It’s a win-win for all.”

Shelly Powell, the Nurse Aide and Med Prep Programs Chair, also sees the importance of this funding. “It helps build the healthcare workforce. ere was a nurse aide shortage before COVID-19, but it’s worsened.”

Powell is excited about what it brings to people wanting to work in healthcare. “It’s a path to explore a career by taking an intro certi cate, such as Nurse Aide. It gives individuals the con dence to pursue other medical training programs.“

Allied Health Programs

Aims has well-respected programs in allied health such as nursing, radiology, phlebotomy, surgical technology and more. ese positions are essential for medical practices, hospitals and long-term care facilities to o er care to patients. e hub for this educational path is at the main Aims Campus in Greeley. Students can also obtain the Nurse Aide Certi cate at the Fort Lupton Aims Campus.

Lacey Mast, a Medical Assisting alumna, had a great experience in the program, and it helped her nd a job that she loves. “Aims helped me feel ready, con dent and excited for what the medical assisting world had in store for me. is program helped me learn how important medical assistants are and how much impact they have on helping people.”

Emergency Medical Programs

Another path students can pursue at Aims is emergency medical services (EMS). ese programs prepare students to be EMTs or paramedics to provide critical life-saving care in ambulances, hospitals and more. Aims o ers emergency medical services and other public safety coursework on the Aims Windsor Campus.

“Aims Community College has made an incredible investment in the students to include the building speci cally for EMS as well as all the di erent equipment they give us in order to teach the students the things necessary to be a success.” Said Paul LaFleur, paramedic program director and instructor at Aims.

People and Technology Support Your Success

ese programs have the proper facilities for hands-on labs and patient simulators to provide a clinical experience. Students train on the same equipment found in cutting-edge hospitals and surgical centers. Aims invests in this high-quality technology to get students comfortable with the same equipment used at hospitals and clinics.

An Anatomage Table is an incredible and essential item in the Aims toolbox for medical training. It is the most technologically advanced 3D anatomy visualization system for anatomy, health conditions, and physiology. Anatomage Tables work as virtual cadavers to provide an incredible and realistic experience for an in-depth study of the human body. Aims and many of the world’s leading medical schools and institutions o er this technology for student use and testing. e college was the rst in Colorado to purchase and adopt this technology. e college maintains strong relationships with long-term care facilities, hospitals and medical practices in northern Colorado and beyond. For example, the Allied Health & Wellness Division added eight new clinical partnerships during the 202122 academic year, totaling over 100 partnerships to serve more than 540 students.

Aims has the tools you need to succeed. It is more than the investment in ultramodern facilities, hands-on learning opportunities, small class sizes, and an industryrelevant curriculum; it’s the people. Our instructors share a passion for teaching. You’ll learn from our sta and your fellow students, too.
