Skyview opened up the tournament by beating ornton 61-23 on the Wolverines’ oor. No stats were before beating Mesa Ridge 4-1 to advance to the title match.

Legacy beat Prairie View 6957 in Brighton Feb. 13. No stats were available for the Lightning. Rashawn Salinas scored 22 for the underHawks. Javon Brewton added a dozen.

“I worked hard all week,” the junior said. “I wanted to win that championship. It is a lot of motivation for next season.

Natasha Kuberski nished second at the 235-pound bout after falling to Calhan’s Ciara Monger in the title match with a pinfall.

Kuberski was disappointed for falling short, but really appreciated the moment to wrestle.

“It was fun,” Kuberski said. “I got to do something I just really loved in front of a lot of people. I was disappointed I didn’t win, but I got to wrestle Ciara and we are friends and I am happy for her. Glad I got to share the match with a friend of mine.”

Holy Family

Holy Family’s junior Abram Moore faced a tough competition in the class 3A 215-pound title match.

Moore fell to Salida’s undefeated Drew Johnson by pinfall, ending a pretty impressive state bid.

Skyview opened up the tournament by beating ornton 61-23 on the Wolverines’ oor. No stats were available for either team, 120-pound title match, but he knew it was his to win.

Moore pinned Mullen’s Amani Fuga in the opening round and then defeated Englewood’s Jayce Prante (4-2) and Strasburg’s Egen Stephens (4-1) to advance to the title match.

“I improved and got better since last year,” said Moore, who nished the season 38-5. “(Egen) was tough, but I felt I did well this year.”
