A Message from the 2022 Golden Chamber of Commerce Chairman
Golden Chamber of Commerce Members, For the past couple years we have focused on achieving our overarching goal to provide value to our members by being an advocate and promoter of business. is year I’d like to provide a summary of what we’ve accomplished to date.

• Conducted a business survey to get
your feedback on how we can better support your business.
° is is the foundation of how the
Chamber supports a thriving and engaged business community. You will learn more about this in our feature article “Bringing Business Together
To Bring Golden Forward.”
• Grew our team to better serve mem-
bers and recruit new members.
° Our Executive Director, Nola Krajewski, hired a Membership & Communication Manager (Ali Sto et) and a Program & Events Manager (Lora
Knowlton). ese two valuable employees have helped the Chamber grow and improve our service to you.
We look forward to continuing this momentum in 2022.

• Restructured our sponsorship and
member pricing levels to provide more marketing opportunities for members and a better ROI on your membership.
° We added investor levels and have improved our membership bene ts for the di erent levels. We plan to continue re ning this in 2022.

• Created a member business advisory
council to provide a uni ed and strong business voice in the community.
° We kicked this o in the 4th quarter of 2021 and have representatives from 10 organizations. We are in the process of expanding this group to 15 - 20 to ensure we have representation across di erent business types. Our purpose is to improve communication and involvement with city council and city management on policy and business issues.
e key question we want to answer is “why should I remain a member and/or join the Chamber?” We want the answer to become obvious! is year you will see even more headway being made to provide you with a Chamber that is a critical contributor to your success.
I personally have invested time, money, and energy into helping the Chamber add value for our community because I believe that a strong chamber of commerce, with an engaged business member base, is good for the community. It’s a circle of support; chamber provides value to businesses to help them thrive and in turn businesses provide value added goods and services for the community, which in turn supports all of us.
e Chamber is here to provide value for our members and being a member:
• Brings credibility to your business • Increases your visibility in the com-
munity
• Creates networking opportunities
• Allows you to gain a voice in govern-
ment issues
• Provides opportunities to make busi-
ness contacts, and
• Provides you with information on
legislative and other business issues via our newsletters and emails.
Lastly, the Chamber brings key events and programs to the city that businesses bene t from via increased visitation and dollars to our city.
In closing, I’d like to acknowledge the strong Board of Directors we have as well as our Chamber employees. The work that has been done the past year has been rewarding and in 2022 you will see more positive changes. We look forward to working with our members to create an even better business climate in Golden; the Chamber is the Gateway to Golden for our business community and I encourage you to join if you are not already a member. If you have ideas for the Chamber to consider, please email me at info@ goldenchamber.org with Golden Chamber Ideas in the subject line.

Whether you are the CEO of your own company, or just starting out in your career, being an involved member of your business community makes you a leader. As business leaders, you’re always changing, evolving and adapting to stay ahead of the curve. Your Chamber is doing the same — so that we can serve all businesses better and continue to bring Golden together. This past year, the Golden Chamber started on a journey to bring our organization forward. The Board of Directors spearheaded a nine-month process to really listen to our members and understand what they need. This in-depth process included a comprehensive review of our mission and purpose, personal interviews with members and non-members, a survey to understand what Golden business leaders wanted from the Chamber, and deep thinking on how to best serve the Golden business community. We heard from many different voices — and realized different sizes and types of businesses need different resources and tools. We recognized the need to better define our role in the business community. And we definitely heard the importance of connecting people. As a result, we’re excited to announce the Golden Chamber of Commerce is evolving to become: Catalysts for business growth; Conveners of leaders and influencers to get things done; and Champions for a thriving community. For over 100 years, The Chamber of Commerce has played a vital role in Golden — through all of the ups, downs, good times and big challenges. From MolsonCoors to Meyer Hardware, from well-established institutions to small businesses just starting out, ultimately it is people coming together to build community that makes Golden an incredible place to live, work and run a business. We’re here for all of it. As you may know, (although many Golden residents do not!) the Chamber is behind some of Golden’s most-loved events like the Golden Farmers Market, The Golden Fine Arts Festival, Taste of Golden, and more. These events are good for business, of course, but their impact goes well beyond driving traffic. We’ll never forget the importance of community. After all, it was the Golden Chamber of Commerce that helped to build the iconic arch to make everyone feel welcome in our city. Events will always be a part of what we do — and now we’re excited to move towards bringing even more value to our business community. Over the coming weeks and months, you’ll start to see and feel the shift in our renewed sense of purpose.
We’re excited to share more news and updates soon. Until then, thank you for your participation and partnership. Stay engaged to make your Chamber stronger.
Join us, and find your place under the arch.
We believe every business in Golden has a place in the community, because every business has a stake in helping Golden thrive. Strong businesses need fl ourishing communities that, in turn, feed more growth and opportunity for all. The Chamber completes that Golden circle. By connecting people — business leaders, thinkers, do’ers, citizens and neighbors — The Golden Chamber of Commerce creates a foundation for success, a springboard for growth and a platform for support. Together, we unlock the spirit that drives Golden.

We loved Colorado before Colorado was even a state. Our water, our employees and our beer are all born in the Rockies. But the thing we love most about Colorado is the community, which is why we’ll always take care of you.
