Firefighters, Englewood police compete in rib eating contest

Fire ghters assigned to Denver Fire Station 38 in Englewood, along with o cers from the Englewood Police Department, participated in the rib eating contest at the rst annual Andy’s Olympics at Texas Roadhouse in Sheridan on Tuesday.
In the end, Firehouse 38 claimed victory by out-eating the police department.
Additionally, many participated in other activities at the event including hula hooping, sack racing and bean bag tossing.
e event was hosted by Texas Roadhouse, serving as a fundraiser for Pirate Youth Sports.
“We really like it. It’s great that there’s a community in Englewood,” Kate said.
Adams said they speci cally enjoyed the four food trucks at the event.
Additionally, a group of local musicians met at the event and performed live music for those attending.
e next Neighborhood Nights will be held July 26 at Cushing Park, located at 700 W. Dartmouth Ave.
