Honoring fallen soldiers
Via Facebook, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Offi ce had 18 people, including Sheriff Tyler Brown went to Washington D.C. for Police Week and to honor the fallen. May 15 is National Peace Offi cer Memorial Day and one our own, Charles H. Wilcox, an Arapahoe County deputy sheriff who died more than a century ago, was added to the memorial. He was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 19, 1899.

South Metro responds to Centennial fi re
On May 11, around 2:25 p.m., South Metro Fire & Rescue responded to reports of an exterior fi re in front of a two-story single-family home on S Krameria Street in Centennial.
Firefi ghters worked quickly to ensure all the occupants were out of the home and to extinguish the fi re and keep it from extending into the interior of the home.
No injuries occurred and the cause is under investigation.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Offi ce assisted on the call.
