Family business packs protein power What they do Sure, everybody’s crazy about bacon these days, but how many have had the real deal? Wheat Ridge Poultry and Meats prepares, smokes and slices theirs in-house, and it’s available in flavors like jalapeño red pepper. It’s nearly impossible to leave the shop without an armload of delicious meals-to-be, including grass-finished steaks, free-range chicken, fresh frozen pasta, locally made pickles and jams, and a growing list of seafood.
History The shop started as an egg farm on the corner of 29th and Depew in 1942. Over time, the farm was converted to a shopping center and the product line was increased. Wheat Ridge Poultry and Meats has been family owned and operated since day one, and is run by the second generation of the Bobitsky family.

Did you know? The stainless steel cabinets behind the meat counter are now used for storage, but they once held eggs that dropped from a nesting area above the shop.
