GO SLOW As you slowly return the club back to the two-by-four, your left wrist should be flat and right wrist still hinged, with the majority of your weight remaining on your front foot. Your left arm should remain straight and the right arm soft like a wet noodle. The purpose of this drill is to understand the correct sequence of the swing through impact, so make sure everything moves slowly.

EXTEND YOUR ARMS After initially making contact with the two-by-four, your right arm should start to extend so that you are able to push the board at least two feet. To avoid the dreaded “chicken wing,” you should feel like you are trying to get the club head as far away from your left shoulder as possible. Your left wrist should remain flat with your right palm facing the ground. As your weight continues to shift, your right heel should elevate slightly.
