The Crossing of the Bridge A new tradition was born this past spring – the Crossing of the Bridge – as the 4th Graders began their transition to Middle School. As they gathered at the south end of the bridge that connects the Lower School campus to Middle and Upper School, the students heard from Lower School Head Jill Hunter and Middle School Head Charlie Blair greeted each with a warm handshake. They then spent the morning visiting classes and touring the Middle School before having lunch and returning to 4th Grade classrooms. Above, Dr. Hunter offers a farewell handshake to Alex Peskin ’24.
Recognition for Academic Excellence
T
his spring, a group of seniors who qualif ied academically for induction into the Cum Laude Society were recognized. Retiring Latin teacher Joel Nuckols was the featured speaker. In his speech, Mr. Nuckols reflected upon his fond memories of teaching wonderful students alongside great colleagues. He retired in June after 36 years of coaching, counseling college applicants and teaching Latin.
