There’s Nothing to Do... Involvement is an important aspect of your student’s college experience. Students who are involved outside the classroom develop leadership skills and learn how to balance their social and academic life. If your student tells you, “There’s nothing to do on campus,” remind them about the resources that were presented at SOAR. Suggest visiting the Office of Student Engagement website to check out the events calendar and explore the many options: MissouriState.edu/StudentEngagement. ² Check Twitter for events and opportunities Twitter is a great way to keep up with activities. From @ClifSmart to @MOStateOSE (student engagement) and @MOStateCCE (volunteer opportunities) to @BearsFamilies (a resource for our family members and students) plus many more, your student will be “in the know” about MSU events.
