The piece was commissioned by the Orquesta Filarmonica de Montevideo and was performed with Swiss conductor Thomas Herzog and pianist Enrique Graf, the College’s artist-in-residence. Phil and Allie Phelps Zaubi are married and live in Charleston, where Phil is the director of technology at Porter-Gaud School and Allie is an adjunct professor of Spanish at the College.
