Annual Hurst Citizen

We recently completed our annual survey and reported the results to the City Council during their annual strategic planning retreat. Thank you to those who participated in the survey! Your input is valuable and helps contribute to the planning of our annual budget.

Here are some of the results we found:

• Hurst residents are satisfied with the quality of life in the city!

• Citizens ranked the strategic priorities most important to them. Public Safety and Infrastructure were ranked the highest.

• When commenting about the issues around the city, citizens said that want extra focus on public safety and the quality of roads and streets. The condition of streets, properties in need of repair, door-to-door salespeople, and sidewalk conditions were most often selected by survey takers when asked about which city issues were major concerns.

• The highest-rated departments include Fire Services, Ambulance/EMS, and Police Services, followed by garbage and recycling collection, Library Services, Parks & Recreation, and the Hurst Conference Center.

“Wonderful city employees who are very dedicated and loyal.”

“Thank you for providing the opportunity to give feedback. I value living in Hurst and certainly understand that we have issues and positive attributes that are unique. I appreciate the diligence, time, and professionalism exhibited by City Council and city employees.”
