OPENING OF MAST, THE NEW CENTRE FOR ART, INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY /INAUGURA MAST, IL NUOVO CENTRO PER L’ARTE, L’INNOVAZIONE E LA TECNOLOGIA On October 4, the feast day of san Petronio, patron saint of Bologna, MAST opened its doors to the city with a three-day long inauguration. Company employees, representatives of public institutions and a selected number of guests were invited to enter the building by the long emblematic ramps that lead to the new multifunctional centre /Il 4 ottobre, giorno di san Petronio, patrono di Bologna, MAST ha aperto le porte alla città con una inaugurazione durata tre giorni. Collaboratori, rappresentanti delle istituzioni e una ristretta platea di invitati hanno avuto la possibilità di percorrere le grandi rampe che danno accesso al nuovo centro polifunzionale
“A micro-city dedicated to art, innovation and technology; the external design forms a unified structure, but internally the complex is composed of multiple functions and itineraries.” This was the concept presented by the architects, Claudia Clemente and Francesco Isidori, when proposing the new MAST multi-functional centre design to Coesia president, Isabella Seràgnoli, who had been strongly motivated for some time to build the centre; she opened the building, which is situated adjacent to local landmark, the G.D plant, and the headquarters of the Coesia Group, on October 4. On the feast day of san Petronio, patron saint of the city, the doors of the new and futuristic complex, which has enhanced the area on the outskirts of Bologna, were opened at mid-morning to welcome more than 2000 guests. The Coesia Italia employees, representatives of public institutions and numerous guests visited the spaces dedicated to the Gallery, the Academy, the Auditorium, the Restaurant, the Cafeteria, the Wellness centre, and the Créche. These form the main areas of the complex. During her presentation before the opening, Isabella Seràgnoli stated that her aim was to make MAST a “bridge between the company and the city” and that the huge access ramp leading into the building was the symbol of this link. “One of the main goals that we are aiming for is that the mechanics, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit that have always been the outstanding features of industry in our territory and our region can contribute towards making MAST the promoter of a cultural process that energizes and motivates young generations towards

Così i due architetti Claudia Clemente e Francesco Isidori hanno presentato MAST, il nuovo centro polifunzionale, fortemente voluto e realizzato da Isabella Seràgnoli che ha inaugurato a Bologna il 4 ottobre scorso, accanto alla storica fabbrica di G.D e alla sede centrale del Gruppo Coesia. Il giorno di san Petronio, patrono della città, a partire da metà mattina, le porte di questo nuovo e futuristico edificio, che arricchisce una zona della prima periferia bolognese, sono rimaste aperte per oltre 2000 persone. I collaboratori di Coesia Italia, i rappresentanti delle istituzioni e i numerosi ospiti hanno affollato gli spazi della Gallery, dell’Academy, dell’Auditorium, del Ristorante, della Caffetteria, del Wellness e del Nido che compongono questa articolata struttura. MAST, ha detto Isabella Seràgnoli durante la presentazione che ha preceduto l’apertura, vuole essere un “ponte fra impresa e città” e la grande rampa di accesso all’edificio è il simbolo di questa congiunzione. “Uno degli obiettivi che ci siamo posti è che meccanica, tecnologia, innovazione, spirito imprenditoriale, che hanno da sempre caratterizzato le imprese del nostro territorio, contribuiscano a rendere MAST il promotore di un processo culturale che favorisca la motivazione delle giovani generazioni verso l'innovazione, il gusto di intraprendere, attraverso coinvolgenti percorsi esperienziali e anche ludici”.
