You can learn one of music’s deepest mysteries: how to play songs without relying on music. This class is about practical presentation of music theory that includes predicting chord progressions, learning from recordings, and transposing all expressed in everyday language. Sketchbook Adventures with Heather Green Explore Old Bisbee with a sketchbook! The historic architecture, old staircases, colorful artwork, and quirky characNEW ters practically invite you to draw them. Sketchbooks are a great way to document your experiences while honing your drawing skills. In this workshop, participants can learn about types of sketchbooks, portable media and ways to use both in a personal and creative way while discovering Old Bisbee on foot. Introduction to Computers Series for Adults Surfing for Seniors Learn about tips and tricks to make more effective searches and navigate the Internet like a pro. This class can give you more confidence to surf the Web efficiently. Date Thursday, Oct 11

Practical information and useful techniques for beginning computer users will be presented by Sean Trachtman. Classes are hands-on with one student to a computer. Open discussion and questions are encouraged. All classes are held at the Sierra Vista Campus on Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Room 703. The Geology of Southeast Arizona with Glenn Minuth Become familiar with the prominent geological features of Eastern Cochise County via a one-day field trip to a world-class volcanic area. Your instructor will include geologic map interpretation, flip chart diagrams, handouts, rock samples and guided discussions. The trip includes stops at Texas Canyon, Willcox Playa, and the volcanic landscapes of the Chiricahua National Monument. The monument visit includes two stops for discussions in the Visitor’s Center and Massai Point Kiosk and a guided hike through the monument’s spectacular Echo Canyon. Meet Our Aquifer with Sandy Kunzer Separate water fact from fiction with a classroom and field overview of the hydrologic cycle and the variety of earth materials that form our aquifer, how they were NEW formed and some of the difficulties and opportunities that those materials present to those of us living in the San Pedro Valley. The Slaughter Ranch homestead includes the old adobe house, granary, ice house, commissary, wash house and barns.
