For years now I have been saying āLife Is Like A Roll Of Toilet Paper, The Closer You Get To The End, The Faster It Goes!!!ā Itās never affected me, until the last 1 & 1/2 years.
Example, I put our recycle bins out like every other day (it seems), but they only come on Wednesdays. Since Iāve been trying to put up a short message on our one page, SOS Ministries every Tuesday & Thursday, everyday is now Tuesday & Thursday!!! Monthly doctor visits are now every week (it seems)!!! But they havenāt changed except me and my age!!!
Is this happening to anyone else, other than me?

To be silent the whole day, see no newspaper, hear no radio, listen to no gossip, be thoroughly and completely lazy, thoroughly and completely indifferent to the fate of the world is the finest medicine a man can give himself. ~Henry Miller *********
Someone confronted me again about me always saying,ā Brotherhood Is Daed!ā So I tell them how drugs & selling them killed it, starting back in the late 60ās.
In the 1970ās, club 1%ers were even killing their on patchholders over this. Drugs turned some into greedy bastards, while it caused others to become RATS!
Telling on a ābrotherā so that he goes to jail/prison while the RAT stays out of confinement & continues on taking & selling drugs, mostly meth.

I donāt know who Vince Havner is, because this is Dr. Vance Havner, someone Iāve studied back in the 80ās in college. However, I do believe he would say as much. His quotes are famous for challenging true people of faith to be more like Christ Jesus.
āIt is possible to stand high in religious circles and not get out of kindergarten in the school of Christ; it is possible to hold postgraduate degrees in theology and never make third grade at the feet of the Master. Growing in knowledge is not necessarily growing in grace.ā ~ Dr. Havner (RIP)

A young man asked his grandfather, āGrandpa, how did you live in the past without technology . . . without computers without drones without bitcoins without Internet connection without TVs without air conditioners without cars without mobile phones?ā
Grandpa answered:
āJust as your generation lives today . . . no prayers, no compassion, no respect, no GMRC, no real education, poor personality, there is no human kindness, there is no shame, there is no modesty, there is no honesty.
We, the people born between the years 1930-1980, were the blessed ones. Our lives are a living proof.ā
¶ While playing and riding a bike, we have never worn a helmet.
¶ after school we did our homework ourselves and we always played in meadows until sunset
¶ We played with real friends, not virtual friends.
¶ If we were thirsty, we would drink from the fountain, from the waterfalls, faucet water, not mineral water.
¶ We never worried nor get sick even as we shared the same cup or plate with our friends.
¶ We never gained weight by eating bread and pasta every day.
¶ Nothing happened to our feet despite walking barefoot.
Chops 10

¶ We never used food supplements to stay healthy.
¶ We used to make our own toys and play with them.
¶ Our parents were not rich. They gave us love, not material gifts.
¶ We never had a cell phone, DVD, PSP, game console, Xbox, video games, PC, laptop, internet chat . . . but we had true friends.
¶ We visited our friends without being invited and shared and enjoyed the food with their family.
Parents lived nearby to take advantage of family time.
¶ We may have had black and white photos, but you can find colorful memories in these photos.
¶ We are a unique and the most understanding generation, because we are the last generation that listened to their parents. And we are also the first ones who were forced to listen to their children.
We are limited edition. Take advantage of us. Learn from us. We are a treasure destined to disappear soon. 1967

Without solitude, Love will not stay long by your side. Because Love needs to rest, so that it can journey through the heavens and reveal itself in other forms.
Without solitude, no plant or animal can survive, no soil can remain productive, no child can learn about life, no artist can create, no work can grow and be transformed.
Solitude is not the absence of Love, but its complement.
Solitude is not the absence of company, but the moment when our soul is free to speak to us and help us decide what to do with our life.
Therefore, blessed are those who do not fear solitude, who are not afraid of their own company, who are not always desperately looking for something to do, something to amuse themselves with, something to judge.
If you are never alone, you cannot know yourself. And if you do not know yourself, you will begin to fear the void.
~Paulo Coelho
Nobody will protect you from your suffering. You canāt cry it away or eat it away or starve it away or walk it away or punch it away or even therapy it away. Itās just there, and you have to survive it. You have to endure it. You have to live through it and love it and move on and be better for it and run as far as you can in the direction of your best and happiest dreams across the bridge that was built by your own desire to heal.
~Cheryl Strayed
In a society that values conformity and obedience, the individual who dares to think for themselves is often ostracized and ridiculed. These nonconformists, these outcasts, are the true pioneers of society, the ones who push us to question our assumptions and expand our horizons. They are the ones who are not afraid to be different, to be themselves.
If you find yourself feeling like an outsider, like you donāt fit in with the crowd, thatās a good thing. It means that you have the potential to make a real difference in the world. Donāt be afraid to be yourself, to follow your own path. The world needs your unique perspective.
~Timothy Leary

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them. Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and youāll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you have anyway. ~Kent M. Keith
People always think that happiness is a faraway thing, something complicated and hard to get. Yet, what little things can make it up; a place of shelter when it rains - a cup of strong hot coffee when youāre blue; a book to read when youāre alone - just to be with someone you love. Those things make happiness. ~Betty Smith
Under the influence of great fear, almost everybody becomes superstitious.
Collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to produce ferocity towards those who are not regarded as members of the herd.
Fear generates impulses of cruelty, and therefore promotes such superstitious beliefs as seem to justify cruelty.
Neither a man nor a crowd nor a nation can be trusted to act humanely or to think sanely under the influence of a great fear. ~Bertrand Russell

A young man in middle school was approached by some of his male peers and asked about his dad and grand dads. āAre they as tough as you are?ā To which the preteen boy answered, āMy dad is very tough. Iāve seen him do some heavy lifting and such, man heās strong!ā āBut can he fight? Is he scared of much?ā As any son worth his salt, answered, āYes he can duke it out, and Iāve not seen him ever scared.ā
āWhat about your grandpas?ā, they inquired. I donāt know answered the boy. āOne of them has always told me how tough he is. Itās like every time I see him, he tells me stories about how he whipped this guy or backed these other men down, and so on. But I donāt know if itās true or just entertaining words for me?ā
āWhat about the other one?ā āWell, heās never talked about if he has ever fought or was a bad dude, like my other one, but I know he must have been, cause though he has never said such, everyone that knew him said he was and I believe them.ā
Why believe one was, and the other you are unsure of?ā
āWell, the one did all the bragging on himself, but the other one, who was all about loving me, never bragged on nothing about himself, other than his love for me.ā
āHe didnāt have to brag to me, cause all of his friends did it for him.ā
āThat is awesome. And that makes sense. By the way, not sure who you will take after, but as far as we can see right now, you donāt have to brag on yourself, cause you are one tough little dude.ā

Donāt take anything personally.
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions of others, you wonāt be the victim of needless suffering.

A fisherman was dining alone in a fancy restaurant and there was a Gorgeous redhead sitting at the next table. He had been checking her out since he sat down, but lacked the nerve to talk with her. Suddenly she sneezed, and her glass eye came flying out of its socket towards the man. He reflexively reached out, grabbed it out of the air, and handed it back.
āOh my, I am so sorry,ā the woman said, as she popped her eye back in place. āLet me buy your dinner to make it up to you.ā
They enjoyed a wonderful dinner together, and afterwards they went to the theatre followed by drinks. They talked, they laughed, she shared her deepest dreams and he shared his. She listened to him with interest. After paying for everything, she asked him if he would like to come to her place for a nightcap and stay for breakfast. They had a wonderful, wonderful time.
The next morning, she cooked a gourmet meal with all the trimmings. The guy was amazed. Everything had been so incredible!
āYou know,ā he said, āyou are the perfect woman. Are you this nice to every guy you meet?ā
āNo,ā she replies. .. ....(get ready) āYou just happened to catch my eye.ā ********
To love someone long-term is to attend a thousand funerals of the people they used to be. The people theyāre too exhausted to be any longer. The people they grew out of, the people they never ended up growing into. We so badly want the people we love to get their spark back when it burns out, to become speedily found when they are lost. But it is not our job to hold anyone accountable to the people they used to be. It is our job to travel with them between each version and to honor what emerges along the way. Sometimes it will be an even more luminescent flame. Sometimes it will be a flicker that temporarily floods the room with a perfect and necessary darkness.

Itās so funny or not, that this was sent to me today, as I was just thinking about this last night as I was meditating on a few things & people.
You see, this happened to me when I moved back up to KY for a year. When I moved back down here, a few of my closes friends ignored me. One was the manager at the INS, (RIP). We had always been close, & it was he that let me start having church up there once a month, but when I came back???
Another was the owner of small mom & pop motorcycle parts & repair shop. They were so cold to me, it was crazy. Then there were the Christian M/Mās that barely spoke to me. Itās like what the HELL?
I figured it out after a month or so, as I questioned āWho could have told them something about me to cause these reactions? Or what was told on me?ā Simple, who did we know or had in common that would do such?
I figured it out, but have kept my mouth shut as itās just not worth it, however I had to prove these story believers wrong & I have!!!

In the 1960s, the fear of quicksand among children was largely fueled by Hollywoodās portrayal of this natural phenomenon. Quicksand became a recurring element in movies of that era, appearing in nearly 3% of all films made during that time. This trend gained momentum in 1960, with notable instances of quicksand featured in popular films like Disneyās āSwiss Family Robinsonā and the sci-fi production ā12 to the Moon.ā However, the most iconic quicksand moment in cinematic history occurred in the 1962 epic āLawrence of Arabia.ā Directed by David Lean and acclaimed as one of the greatest films ever made, this movie, which won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, included a scene where a major character meets his demise after being drawn into a vortex of quicksand. As a result, children of the 1960s often found themselves contemplating elaborate escape plans in case they ever encountered this perceived ādeath pitā while out on everyday adventures.

For some reason, I only recently learned this tale. In September, 1963, with the first hints of Beatlemania having appeared in the UK but the Beatles unknown in the U.S., the quartet got a two-week break. John went to Paris, Paul and Ringo to Spain. George and his brother Peter visited their sister Louise in Benton, Illinois. George went camping, watched a Shrinersā parade, saw a drive-in movie, ate at an A&W, and bought both a Rickenbacker guitar and a slew of records, including an album by r&b singer James Ray that included āGot My Mind Set on You.ā
Louise engineered two interviews. George did one with a teenage girl for a local high-school newspaper, and he and Louise hitchhiked to a radio station to do another with a teenage girl who had a Saturday morning show. The girl played a copy of āPlease, Please Meā to little audience reaction. George met Louiseās neighbor, Warren Batts, whoād played with Bill Haley. The two sat in Warrenās living room playing guitar. At a VFW hall, George sat in with a band called the Four Vests, playing Hank Williams, Carl Perkins, and Chuck Berry numbers.
George and Peter spent two or three days in New York, then flew home. George next visited the U.S. five months later, in February, under very different circumstances.
I canāt help but think of the people who met quiet, scruffy George in southern Illinois. Did the man who gave him and his sister a ride, for instance, ever put two and two together? I imagine his ....page 45

In 1913 the brothers [Abernathy] Louis [Bud] age 13, and Temple age 9, rode from Oklahoma to New York City on the Indian Motorcycle seen in the photo.
This was not the Abernathy boys firs adventure.
In 1909 the two brothers, Louis āBudā aged nine and Temple five, encountered a host of Old West obstacles, including wolves and wild rivers, when they rode more than 1,000 miles from Oklahoma to Santa Fe and back ā ALONE!.
The following year (1910) the brothers set their sights on New York City, which they reached after a month of hard riding.
In the summer of 1911, they did the impossible. They rode nearly 4,000 miles, from New York to San Francisco, in only sixty-two days. Once again, the Abernathy Boys had made a historic ride without any adult assistance and accomplished an equestrian feat which has never been equaled.

There once was a man and a woman who had been married for more than 60 years. They talked about everything. They kept no secrets from each other... except that the old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she cautioned her husband never to open it or ask her about it.
For all these years he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would never recover.
In trying to sort out their affairs the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wifeās bedside. She agreed it was time that he should know what was in the box.
When he opened it he found 2 beautifully crocheted doilies and a stack of money totaling over $25,000. He asked her about the unusual contents.
āWhen we were married,ā she said, ā my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doily.ā
The little old man was so moved, he had to fight back tears. Only two precious doilies were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with joy and happiness.
āSweetheart,ā he said... āthat explains the doilies, but what about all this money? Where did it all come from?ā
Oh,ā she said, ā thatās the money I made from selling the doilies.ā

I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. He taught me that if you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it at full speed ahead. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good. Hot is no good either. White hot and passionate is the only thing to be. ~Roald Dahl

My grandmother, Grace Caldwell Bayes, was born on May 20, 1910. When I was a child and needed a home, she took me in. I spent about half of my childhood under her care. She looked after me. She cared about me. Such things were at a premium in my spotty childhood.
She was a walking, breathing stereotype, tough as an old boot with a heart of gold. She was born on Mud Creek, in eastern Kentucky, 3 miles south of a godforsaken hamlet by the name of Tram. On the 1920 census, sheās listed as Gracie, 10 years old.
By the time I tumbled into her life, she had lived through two world wars and had birthed and raised seven daughters. She had four teeth, untreated diabetes, a bad case of arthritis, and bulging varicose veins. Despite the aches and pains, I remember her working that old farm in her bare feet, day in, day out, singing songs about Jesus and warning me about the devil. She usually wore a big scarf around her head like a Russian peasant and looked twenty years older than her actual age. I traipsed after her, wanting to help. Mostly, however, I was an overeager, inept little companion. But I tried to overcome that with my willingness to risk life and limb to win her approval.
We were partners, and we were always doing. Sometimes we would wander out into the fields foraging for a mess of greens. Other times we would kill a chicken. In the evenings we would sit on the porch and break green beans, and we would play word games and, in the fading light, she would tell me stories about the old times. About bad old

I still love words, like she did, and people tell me Iām a story-teller, like she was. I like to think that, like she was, Iām tough as an old boot, and I am certain that whatever kindness lies within me, I gained from her for she was the kindest person I have ever known. All of that is my inheritance. From Gracie, born on Mud Creek. Iām grown now, grown old now, but Iāll tell you straight out that losing her still cuts through my soul.

Chops 58 times.
