DELIVERING VALUE BEYOND ELECTRICITY

RELIABILITY | AFFORDABLE RATES | TOP SERVICE | COMMUNITY IMPACT

NATIONALLY RANKED RELIABILITY

We’re focused on delivering reliable service to you, our members. We have a resilient energy grid, and we’re working every day to improve and maintain our infrastructure to provide perfect power. Cobb EMC is ranked #1 nationally for restoring outages quickly, according to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ 2025 reliability benchmark study results.

LOWEST ELECTRIC RATES IN THE STATE

For three consecutive years, Cobb EMC has held the title of Georgia’s #1 lowest electric rates in the state among all 94 electric utilities, according to the Georgia Public Service Commission’s 2023 Summer, 2024 Winter and Summer and 2025 Winter and Summer Residential Rate Surveys. #1

TOP RATED SERVICE NATIONWIDE

We know what matters most is reliable power and low rates. While we deliver on that promise, Cobb EMC is also top ranked for member satisfaction by nationally recognized customer satisfaction organizations. We’re focused on members and delivering value beyond electricity.

COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT

Serving power with purpose is what we strive for. From hosting employee-led volunteer events to partnering with schools and nonprofits, Cobb EMC is deeply committed to making a positive impact. This year, the Cobb EMC Foundation reached a milestone of donating more than $10 million to local nonprofits since its inception in 2013.

POWER OUTAGE DETAILS at your fingertips

PROVIDING RELIABLE POWER IN THE MIDST OF THE STORM

At Cobb EMC, reliability starts with a dedicated team of employees who work 24/7, 365 and are ready to serve, rain or shine. Here are a few ways we work to provide power no matter the weather:

Vegetation Management

Clearing trees and overgrown vegetation is vital to provide safe, reliable power to our members. Cobb EMC routinely clears certain areas in our service territory, known as rights of way, to keep power lines clear of tree limbs, restore power outages more quickly, keep crews and members safe and reduce unexpected costs for repairs.

Maintaining Infrastructure

Cobb EMC regularly inspects and monitors more than 9,000 miles of line across our service territory to identify opportunities for maintaining and improving our infrastructure. Most recently, we have used drone technology to help us efficiently identify aging poles that need repairs or replacement to proactively mitigate power outages. This effort also ensures the safety of our electric system for crews and for the public. cobbemc.com/Outage

To help you prepare for severe weather and potential power outages, Cobb EMC offers a variety of tools that give you access to outage information right from your phone.

BEFORE A POWER OUTAGE

Text “register” to 898-362 to sign up for text alerts and receive a message when your power goes out. This notification will let you know that we are aware of a service interruption in your area. You will receive a text message if there is an update to the estimated time of restoration that was provided by our system, and a final message when your power is restored.

DURING A POWER OUTAGE

Access all power outage details right from your phone on our outage map. The map will provide the general area impacted by the power outage, an estimated time of restoration, a cause of the outage, the approximate number of members impacted by the outage, a weather layer to track the storm and more.

Two-way text messaging at 898-362:

• Text “out” and report a power outage. Reported outages may require verification via phone. You may receive a call from Cobb EMC’s main line, 770-429-2100. Text “status” anytime during an outage to receive the most updated information about the service interruption.

• Text “pause” if you’d like to pause outage text notifications until a future service interruption.

At times, you may receive a power outage notification or update even though your power is back on. This is due to a quick response from our system operators who work with our smart grid to restore power to as many members as possible, as quickly and safely as they can do so remotely, while crews continue to identify the cause and restore service. Our priority remains steadfast on restoring outages as quickly and safely as possible.

THE SEASON OF GIVING

As the holiday season approaches and the air turns crisp, we’re reminded that this truly is the season of giving. It’s a time for gratitude, generosity and looking out for one another, and at Cobb EMC, that’s something we take to heart year-round.

EDUCATION: Cobb EMC Washington Youth Tour delegates and chaperones represented Cobb EMC in Washington, D.C., earlier in the year.

AWARENESS: Each October, to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cobb EMC and Northside Hospital partner to flock the yards of our community with a small army of flamingos.

COMMUNITY: Cobb EMC employees packed more than 500 meals with MUST Ministries to help feed local children who need it most during the summer months when school is out.

TIPS TO AVOID ENERGY SCAMS

Scammers will try anything to pressure members into providing their personal information. If you are ever asked to pay your utility bill through a third-party transaction app, such as Cash App or Venmo, it’s a scam. Remember, Cobb EMC will never request a payment through a third-party app. Always use authorized payment methods when paying your utility bills.

Below you will find valid Cobb EMC phone numbers through which you may receive billing and outage notifications, as well as a link to learn more about all authorized ways to pay your bill:
