At Cobb EMC, delivering safe, reliable power is our top priority. We’re trimming trees and investing in smart technology to improve your electric service every day. Thanks to this work, we’re ranked first in the nation for restoring outages quickly1.
SMART TECHNOLOGY: Our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technology allows our power control team to monitor the electrical system from our campus in real time.
When a meter loses power, we’re immediately alerted and can often pinpoint the cause remotely. In many cases, this technology enables us to restore service safely and quickly by operating automated switches from our control center, reducing interruptions and keeping your lights on.
TREE TRIMMING: Many of the power outages in our service area are tree-related. Trees and limbs falling on lines often cause blinks and power outages.

We manage more than 9,000 miles of overhead and underground lines across five counties, and proactive vegetation management is a key part of keeping that system reliable.
Each year, we trim trees along our overhead primary lines and complete additional trimming and maintenance through our contract crews. These efforts help prevent outages, protect equipment and improve safety for both our crews and the public.

SYSTEM UPGRADES: One of the most important things we do to provide reliable electricity is maintaining and updating our infrastructure.
This includes replacing aging poles and wires, building new substations and strengthening equipment across our system. Each year, we inspect 10,000 poles, evaluate thousands of additional components and review more than 200 protection devices to enhance system stability and reduce interruptions. Our real-time

mapping and inspection tools help us identify issues quickly and prioritize upgrades that keep power flowing safely and dependably.
SAFE POWER: From ongoing training encouraging a safe work environment for all of our employees to safety audits, crew visits and our safety ambassador program, we’re dedicated to keeping you and our community safe.

We’re proud to bring you convenience when it comes to making the most of your electric account. Take advantage of the programs and services we’ve created just for you!
