Cobb EMC gives $2.2 million back to members In December and January, the Cobb EMC Board of Directors gave $2.2 million back to members in the form of a Wholesale Power Adjustment (WPA) credit to bring savings to the cooperative’s members. Each bill credit saved the average Cobb EMC household $4 on their bill (when using 1,000 kWh each month). Cobb EMC increases or decreases the WPA as necessary to follow changes in wholesale electric generation and transmission costs. When costs come in lower than expected, we can return money to our members. In the past three years, the Cobb EMC Board of Directors elected to give money back to our members seven times for a total of $16 million. These decisions add up to meaningful savings
for consumers. According to the Georgia Public Service Commission, Cobb EMC is the fifth most affordable of Georgia’s 94 electric utilities. Cobb EMC is committed to providing reliable, safe, affordable and sustainable electricity to our members.
POWER PERK When you see a power perk, it means Cobb EMC has lowered electric bills through a Wholesale Power Adjustment (WPA) credit. As an electric cooperative, we pass savings directly back to you, our members. That’s the cooperative difference.
