Cobb EMC dominates the rankings We are proud that our rates rank 2nd lowest among 41 EMCs and 4th lowest among 94 utilities according to the Georgia Public Service Commission’s summer residential rate survey results. Our members save approximately $25 per month on their summer bills compared to the average electric utility customer for an average household using 1,000 kilowatt hours.

*The Georgia Public Service Commission summer survey ranks electric providers on rates in effect for the month of July, based on total electric bill amounts of 500, 1000, 1500 and 2000 kWh. The savings continue for Cobb EMC members!

Lower bills

Cobb EMC recently passed along four credits in the months of June, July, August and September to bring overall savings and help lower summer bills for our members. In June, a 5-mill credit in the Wholesale Power Adjustment (WPA) was applied, followed by a 9-mill credit in the WPA for the month of July, a 7-mill credit in August and a 5-mill credit in September.

For an average household using 1,000 kilowatt hours, Cobb EMC residential members could have seen a total savings of up to $26 for the past four months.
