Cobb EMC Foundation Board

Guided by a dedicated group of nine members from Cobb EMC’s five-county service area, the Cobb EMC Foundation board directs the distribution of Operation Round Up funds. This independent board operates separately from Cobb EMC to ensure unbiased decisionmaking, prioritizing community impact and the responsible use of available funds.

Cobb & Douglas Health Foundation Improving Birth Outcomes

Cobb & Douglas Public Health’s Babies Born Healthy (BBH) program is changing lives by helping uninsured pregnant women access quality prenatal care through comprehensive pregnancy education, family-centered care coordination, and connections to health and community resources. With support from the Cobb EMC Foundation, 380 families have received critical care, including prenatal and perinatology services, and ultrasounds. This support ensures healthier pregnancies and brighter futures for mothers and their babies.

Additionally, BBH provides essentials like breastfeeding kits, baby care packages, and safe sleep items to further enhance newborn health and safety. Through strong community partnerships and personalized nurse case management, the program continues to improve maternal health and reduce infant mortality, creating lasting, positive change for families in Cobb and Douglas Counties.

“We are so very appreciative of Cobb EMC Foundation’s ongoing commitment to support improved birth outcomes and safety for pregnant women and their infants. This investment helps provide early and regular, lifesaving, prenatal care to reduce premature delivery, reduce low-birth-weight babies and to provide home safety equipment for families in need.”

Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County

Sowing Seeds of Growth and Education

The Master Gardener Volunteers of Cobb County (MGVOCC) are dedicated to planting the seeds of community, sustainability, and nourishment. Through the vibrant gardens they grow, alongside hands-on educational programs, MGVOCC brings people closer to nature. With over 220 members, MGVOCC leads 15 projects across the county, teaching horticulture and eco-awareness while connecting people of all ages.

One example is their Wellness Garden, a half-acre urban farm that produces more than 1,300 pounds of produce annually, all donated to Austell’s Community Food Center. Thanks to the Cobb EMC Foundation, MGVOCC gained critical resources like a hoop house to extend growing seasons, frost covers to protect crops, an outdoor classroom, and much more.

But MGVOCC’s work goes beyond growing gardens—cultivating connections, uniting neighbors, and enriching lives across the Cobb County community.

“We couldn’t have done it without the Cobb EMC Foundation. Their support gave us the tools we needed to transform the Wellness Garden from a barren lot into a thriving community resource. Their grants have made it possible for us to increase our food production, distribute produce to more food insecure people, and provide nutrition education programs to the community.”
