Church holds blanket drive for homeless OCEANSIDE — Even though the temperature is still hot, winter will get cold for many homeless persons soon. The First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside, at 2001 El Camino Real at Fire Mountain Road, hopes to help the homeless keep warm by holding a Blanket Drive Sept. 20, donating what it gathers to the North Coast Interfaith
Community Services to distribute. You can drop off new or clean used blankets, throws, quilts or comforters. Bedspreads are not needed. Bring all items to the main entrance of the church on Sunday morning, Sept. 20 for this mission project. For more information, call (760) 757-3560.
