We met briefly in 2013 at a friends BBQ. In 2015, he ended up getting stationed at the same command as me, and we worked in the same shop. I didn’t realize who he was until our friend reminded me that we had met years before. In August 2015, we went on a detachment to Key West, Florida for two weeks. Since it was his birthday, we all decided to go out and celebrate with him. After, we exchanged numbers and began to converse daily. He was very big on detailing his car and for our first date he invited me to the car wash so he could detail my car as well. I never would have thought that something so simple as washing our cars together would allow us to connect on a different level. Within one month, we were officially in a relationship. Because we worked together, we kept our relationship private for almost two years! When it was time for me to transfer, we no longer had to hide our love from the world! However, we were still trying to figure out our own personal lives, so we were on and off until separating for some time. In 2019, not realizing that we worked near each other again, we ran into each other. Though we experienced some issues in our previous relationship, we were able to forgive each other and move on as “JUST FRIENDS”. Before we knew it, those feelings came rushing back and we started to fall for each other again. In 2022, we were both selected for orders to Florida and our love and bond grew stronger everyday. August 28, 2022, we attended a family vacation to Disney with his family, and he proposed in front of everyone. We decided to have our wedding on a six day cruise to the Bahamas with over 60 of our family and friends. It was more cost effective and allowed for us to do the wedding and honeymoon all in one. The cruise line selected our date to get married and coincidentally, it was August 28, 2023. Exactly one year from the day we got engaged! The best part about our wedding was watching our family and friends blend and build relationships over the days. The Carnival Magic crew really did a great job with putting our wedding together! Everything from the ceremony to the reception to the photography/ videography was amazing! Our wedding was one that everyone will remember!
