ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME Selection Guidelines
I. PURPOSE The Skyview High School Athletics Hall of Fame is founded to honor and perpetuate the contributions of those people who have left a “Legacy of Excellence and Distinction” to our Athletic Department and school community. Those selected have demonstrated distinguished performance, leadership, loyalty, teamwork, and service. Inductees are considered role models to our current and future students, coaches, staff, and members of our Hawks community. II.
CATEGORIES & CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
Athlete • • • •
Competed and lettered at the varsity level Successful in athletics and in the classroom Graduated from Skyview at least ten years prior to induction Demonstrated good citizenship and character while at Skyview High School and beyond graduation at time of selection
Coach • • • •
Served as coach at Skyview for at least 4 years Not employed by the Nampa School District within 4 years prior to induction Demonstrated good citizenship and character while at Skyview and at time of selection Coaches who have retired from education will not be required to wait 4 years to be nominated.
Distinguished Service • • • • •
Made outstanding contributions to Skyview Athletics Served a minimum of 4 years Demonstrated good citizenship and character at Skyview at the time of service and selection Not employed by the Nampa School District within 4 years prior to induction Nampa School District employees who have retired from education will not be required to wait 4 years to be nominated.

Ricky was instrumental in establishing a tradition of excellence at Skyview. He was an outstanding teammate, leader, and person, and made everyone around him better. His leadership, performance, and commitment created an important foundation for Skyview’s culture of success. He showed it was great to be a Skyview Hawk. Work History and Current Career Position
Sarah was on the Professional Golf Tour for three years and is currently pursuing a nursing degree while working at an assisted-living residence in Oregon. Sarah was Skyview’s first three-sport, four-year varsity athletic letter winner. As a multi-sport athlete earning 12 letters, she led the athletic department by example and performance while showing class and leadership in the classroom and on the court, field, and course. She was a fierce competitor with a passion for winning.

Her half-court buzzer beater vs. Centennial in the 2000 District Tournament started the magical State Tournament run culminating in an A-1 (5A) State Runner-Up finish. Her shot also earned her national recognition and a trip to Washington D.C. to participate in Nestle’s Crunchtime Camp hosted by NBA star Grant Hill. In the spring of 2000 she was instrumental in Skyview winning its 1st team State Championship banner (Girls Track & Field). Inducted to Skyview Athletics Hall of Fame on February 3, 2012

Carla Behrens
Distinguished Service Booster’s Club President 1998 to present. Accomplishments, Contributions, and Service to Skyview High School Athletics Carla has been the founder and only President of the Skyview High School Booster’s Club, created in 1998. She established the Skyview Booster’s College Scholarship, SHS Apparel Sales, and Battle of the Moms; coordinated numerous district and state tournament hospitality events; and supported all athletic and activity programs at Skyview. Carla also has served on numerous committees and facilitated Booster financial support for teams traveling to state tournaments, championship banners, and improvements to Skyview Hawks Stadium, Powerhawk Gym, and baseball complex. She has balanced her responsibilities as booster club president, mom, wife, and Nampa American Legion Baseball Secretary/Treasurer while currently working for White Peterson, Attorneys at Law. Husband Steve has been a Skyview employee and an assistant baseball coach. He has also been an invaluable member of the Boosters and Skyview community. Their two sons graduated from Skyview High School, Josh in 1999 and Travis in 2003. Both were active in multiple sports and participated in collegiate athletics. The Behrens family has been a major catalyst for the success of Hawks Athletics. Carla has provided phenomenal support of Hawk student-athletes, coaches, parents, fans, and staff members. She has lived and breathed Skyview Athletics since 1996 and has supported every athlete and coach that has worn navy and silver. Inducted to Skyview Athletics Hall of Fame on February 3, 2012
