The objective of our CNG AP with WE Service pilot program is to raise awareness within our school community about the value and respect that our environment deserves. In addition, we wanted students from two different backgrounds to reflect upon what it means to live in the environment and how their perceptions differ, in an effort to create one singular experience that celebrates their differences. We focused our attention around our school habitat because this is the place where we and the 485 students at our sister school spend our school days.
This project was designed as a series of steps that resulted in a Showcase event where parents of both schools in our community will come together to embrace and acknowledge these artworks in recognition of our local environment and our students’ joint efforts.
