1907. Italy, Venice. 17th century AD. Lead seal 24mm (10.64 gm). Seal of the Finance Office. Standing figure. VF, crimped edge. ($75)

Spatharios was a minor court official, originally part of the imperial bodyguard. Artoklos derives from the Greek for "baker", and indicates responsibility for the kitchen and household staff. 1903.
