King Manor Museum Take a step back in time. The King Manor Museum provides a window into life in Southeast Queens in the 19th century. Founded in 1900, through its interpretive programs, King Manor helps visitors to better understand the role of Rufus King and his sons who became leaders in the early anti-slavery movement. The museum explores the ramifications of their choice to hire free workers rather than practice slavery. The goal of this museum, located in King Park in the heart of Jamaica, is to make history come alive for the hundreds of school children and adults who visit each year. In addition, the museum is designed to foster a deeper appreciation of history as an on-going process. Guided tours of King Manor Museum are offered February – December.
