Q: Hi HeIsTheArtist! How have things been going since the release of your EP, "The Book Of Mary?" Things have been going great! One song off the EP titled “What Did I Do” even went number 1 on ITunes in South Africa. I’m truly grateful.
Q: You've had quite a ride with your current single doing very well on the charts. What has been the most thrilling thing that's happened to you in the past year? It was definitely being able to perform live again. We all have been stuck inside for so long because of the pandemic and it was nice to be able to have face to face interaction with fans again while performing.
Q: What do you like to do when you're not making music? I’m big into healthcare. I’m actually studying to become a nurse. Health Education is definitely
important to me and I hope to share my knowledge with the public while I continue making music.
Q: You live in New York City. What is your favorite thing about the city? Definitely the diverse range of people from different ethnic backgrounds. NYC’s diversity is a big inspiration for me musically.
Q: If you could perform with anyone in the world, who would that be and why? It would be Maxwell. He is a big influence on me musically. I’m actually releasing a cover of his song “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” on October 15th as a tribute to him. Q: Are you political at all? Do you get involved in social media debates?
I’m registered as a Republican. However, I don’t get into political debates on social media. I save my opinions for politically oriented broadcasted shows.
Q: What is one thing about yourself that you would change? To be honest, nothing. I believe God doesn’t make mistakes and I am just as God intended me to be.
Q: If you had any advice for an up and coming artist, what would that be? It would be to stay true to who you are. That’s what makes you unique and stand out.
Q: Any plans for a new single? Yes, I’m releasing a 2-track single cover of “Sumthin’ Sumthin’” by Maxwell on October 15th.
Q: Will you be releasing a follow up album? No plans yet, but that can always change.
