Exclusive Interview with Music artist “Ed Roman”

Q: Hi Ed! How have things been going since the release of your last single, "Tomorrow Is Today?" Ed Roman. How are you good people doing? It’s been a crazy couple of years. I think everybody on the globe is experiencing extreme pressure and emotional gravity. I’m very excited that the new single has been doing well.

Q: You’ve had quite a ride with several singles doing very well on the charts. What has been the most thrilling thing that's happened to you in the past year? Ed Roman. I’m happy to say that the single “Tomorrow Is Today” is up for a pre-Grammy nomination. It is part of a grouping of songs from a project titled “A Recipe for Perpetual Spring” It’s been really amazing seeing the single viewed by so many people on so many platforms. More recently the latest single “Happiness” was in the top 10 of iTunes charts

in South Africa. It’s absolutely thrilling to see the music connecting all over the world. Q: What do you like to do when you’re not making music? Ed Roman. I love gardening and being outside so a lot of my summer is spent growing vegetables. I also like studying astronomy geology and geometry. In the last number of years I’ve been studying the landscapes of catastrophe. A fascinating look into the transition points between the Pleistocene and Holocene era. I also like listening to controversial podcasts. It appeals to my prolifically dissident personality. Q: You live in Shelburne, Ontario, Canada. What is your favorite thing about the city?

Ed Roman. I love where I live. A farmhouse built in 1866 in one of the oldest farming communities in Ontario. The town has grown

considerably in the last number of years to about 10,000 people. It has a small town feel where you can talk to just about anybody. Q: If you could perform with anyone in the world, who would that be and why? Ed Roman. That’s a really big question and I may have a considerable amount of difficulty answering it as I like such a wide variety of music that encompasses over a century. I like improvisational music with a sense of structure that allows for sarcasm creativity and sincerity. I would pretty much tip out the door if I got a chance to jam or play with Tom Waites. Fantastic musician with an enigmatic personality and music that caresses the savage soul. Q: Are you political at all? Do you get involved in social media debates?

Ed Roman. Public service as I like to call it. Politics is such a vile word. Perhaps poly tricks.

My father was the first ever coalition candidate in the history of Canadian federal politics. He was police commissioner for 14 years, chairman of York region for six, and mayor of our township for over 30 years. He hated the word politics. I’d like to say more about current issues on social media but unfortunately it is always arrested, removed and taken down because it violates “” Community guidelines and standards. Laughable really. I prefer to engage in social political debate in person as so much can be missed or missed placed or misunderstood in social media. Social media has become an aggravated pustule of maintaining one narrative.

Q: What is one thing about yourself that you would change? Ed Roman. I love Canada. I am a proud Canadian. It is the place of my birth. My mortal coil is statically charged to the earth here… but……. I really wish it was warm all the time. I absolutely love the summer and the bitter cold

winters and volumes of snow can really wear on the spirit. I would change that I was born closer to the equator. But then again the heart punishing winter is probably what made me stronger. I know it gave me a lot of time to work on music and practice.. lol Q: If you had any advice for an up and coming artist, what would that be?

Ed Roman. Always be yourself. If you’re an idiot maybe you might wanna rethink things but, always be yourself. We are all defined by our influences which can end up being limitation so release yourself from your mentors and become you. Self expression is the key in whatever form it should manifest for you. It needs to feel good. Q: Any plans for a new single? Ed Roman. The new single is currently out. “Happiness” it is currently available on iTunes and Amazon through MTS Records UMG and SONY. There are plans in the works and the

video for Happiness” has already started shooting. Editing in the next couple of weeks and hopefully a release by early November. Q: Will you be releasing a follow up album? Ed Roman. I will be releasing the album titled “A Recipe For Perpetual Spring” in the new year. The three current singles “Stronger, Tomorrow Is Today & Happiness “ are all a part of that album. Q: Any last shout outs or words for your fans? Ed Roman. I’d like to thank you guys for having me today as a guest and to be able to talk about the latest single. I’d like to send a shout out to my manager Michael Stover and to the musicians Dave Patel & Tobias Tinker and producer and engineer Michael Jack. Their steadfast support, love and friendship has been paramount. “Love you cats”

I’d also like to send a shout out to all the DJs and radio stations who have been spinning the song. You know who you are! And of course the fans and folks Who support the music and allow me to do what I do. http://www.edroman.net www.facebook.com/edromanmusic www.twitter.com/specialedroman
