King Pins Challenge scores big Around Town raises $25K for first fundraiser Would Mary

n Sunday, March 22, elected officials, civic and business leaders, high school students, small business owners, first-responders – the police and fire rescue departments – joined on the field known as South Miami’s “Splitsville” for the inaugural King Pins Challenge. Presented by Splitsville Luxury Lanes and the Town Center Magazine, the event benefited the South Miami Drug-Free Coalition, a project of Informed Families. The King Pins Challenge was co-chaired by State Representative and former South Miami Mayor Julio Robaina, current Mayor Horace G. Feliu, and former Mayor and President of Chamber South, Mary Scott Russell.

Story around town is that Mary Scott Russell is thinking about running for office again in South Miami and so is a guy who uses his middle name all the time, too. Not quite sure how much oomph there is behind the mayoral run for MSR cuz she seems pretty happy as the prez of Chamber South. And speaking of local politics, all the paper work is back from Tallahassee concerning the most honorable vice mayor of our fair city, Brian Beasley. It’s really quite amazing how such a simple thing like paying people in cash for driving voters to the polls
