Setting up your WAM Account Before getting started, you need to set up your personal Web space on the University of Maryland server, called WAM (Workstations at Maryland). You will also need this information for logging on to the course Web space on Blackboard. Follow the steps below:

Open a Web browser and go to: http://www.oit.umd.edu/new/student.html

Click on the “Start Here” link to accept/activate your directory ID and to then create a directory password. When you click on the link, you will need to provide your SSN, date of birth, and last name.

You should then be presented with a page of services that you can activate, including WAM account and University EMAIL. Click on the radio buttons associated with those options, but NOT the Glue account option
4.
Submit the request. Now we’re ready to begin!
