WEST COAST ULTRASOUND INSTITUTE West Coast Ultrasound Institute (WCUI) in Beverly Hills, offers programs in MRI, nursing, diagnostic medical sonography, cardiovascular sonography, and pediatric cardiac ultrasound and congenital heart disease. The college was founded over fifteen years ago by Myra Chason, B.S., BSN, RDMS, a nurse and board certified sonographer, and Dr. Neville Myra Chason, B.S., BSN, RDMS Smith, M.D., a board certified radiologist. WCUI has expanded to maintain branches campuses in Ontario, California and Phoenix, Arizona, as well as the original campus in Dr. Behrouz Rahimpour, Beverly Hills (La Cienega FMD, ARMRIT, FASRT Blvd and Gregory Way). WCUI was started with the aim of becoming the premier choice for medical imaging education and the preferred provider of highly skilled and professional graduates, not only in the state of California, but also the nation – and beyond. A successful actress turned nurse and medical education entrepreneur, Chason has made it her goal to constantly push the boundaries of medical imaging and nursing education through maintaining the highest standards for her educators, or “edutainers”, at each campus. WCUI also prides itself on employing an exceptionally qualified staff of board certified radiologists, cardiologists, and technologists whose collective expertise enables the students to keep abreast of
the newest technology, imaging protocols, and innovations. Most importantly, Chason and her staff always operate on the tenet of putting students first. West Coast Ultrasound Institute’s motto is “Knowledge Builds Careers”, and the school stands on this principle by employing a unique blend of didactic instruction, hands on clinical experience through an included clinical lab practicum, externship, and “real” patient care experience through training programs at their on-site clinic. At WCUI, students use the latest ultrasound and MRI equipment in clinical laboratories while enjoying the benefits of a low student to faculty ratio. Between the three school locations, there are over fifty multi-functional ultrasound machines exclusively for student use. The nursing department has on-site clinical labs as well as clinical rotation sites off campus. WCUI maintains over one hundred clinical affiliations with hospitals and imaging centers such as; Cedars Sinai, UCLA, USC, Children’s Hospital, and RadNet, just to name a few.
