L toR: Dr. Arvind Kumar, Dr. Akiro Tokuhiro, Dr. Gary Mueller, Dr. Crystal Gottfried, Dr. Nicholas Tsoulfanidis, Dr. Ray Edwards, Dr. Shahla Keyvan The Nuclear Engineering department, although small, has a very well qualified and talented staff. Out of the six professors in the department, half have their professional license. New to the department is Dr. Akira Tokuhiro, who graduated from Purdue University with his Bachelor's and Ph.D. His main interests include ultrasound Doppler velocimetry and particle im.age velocirnetry. He is also the faculty advisor for the student chapter of the American Nuclear Society. The department held its fust summer camp for prospective high school students interested in Nuclear Engineering. Four undergraduate students planned activities for the students such as scavenger hunts on nuclear industry sites and shielding experiments in the Radiation Measurements Lab. The "campers" also learned about scholarship opportunities, course curriculum, and companies that hire Nuclear Engineers. - by Kenesia Schaper
