A Christmas Gift: A Supportive Husband Inspired Breast Cancer Survivor To Create Beautiful Fleece Throws To Sell At Craft Shows A gift of a fleece throw many years ago inspired Janice Dearth to create her very own throws to give away as gifts. With a few lessons from her cousin, Janice was now teaching her three daughters how to craft fleece throws, and even offered to help ladies at the church make them. Then came the words that no one wants to hear. Janice learned she had breast cancer, and would have to undergo surgery and all the treatments to follow. Her whole world may have changed, but not her spirit! After a slow recovery, Janice decided to buy more fleece and begin sewing again. Her husband was a great supporter through it all, and made the suggestion to sell her lovely throws. That was the encouragement she needed. From that point on, she never counted how many throws she had made until the time they decided to do a craft show. Janice thought she possibly created 60 to 70 throws, but in fact turned out to be more like 160 to 170. Her husband constructed folding racks to make it easier for her to display the throws, and even made a special cover for his truck so she could pack everything she needed to exhibit at shows. Janice said, “God has richly blessed us. I've given away as many throws as I've sold. It's all worthwhile to Janice to see the enjoyment people get in knowing they are her creations. Stop out and meet this lovely lady and her husband who will be presenting in building “E” booth 24.

Summertime Celebration

Having my mother here most of the summer was wonderful! As she knows, in this house there is never a dull moment! We kept busy doing various activities and before I knew it, she was leaving to head home. Dean, also enjoys having my mother here, he would probably tell you it's the only time he gets home cooked meals, but I would beg to differ! Still working full time and being involved with the Hancock Co fair, fills most of his free time. I can manage to talk him into some road trips every now and then, which is always fun!

You'll love the exquisite and vivid handmade flowers created by talented artist Pontip Berry of Avon, Indiana. Each flower is delicately handcrafted from air dried clay and painted with oil paints. It pays to send the very best, so say it with the Pontip Berry collection of gorgeous orchids and flowers. Spend some time at Booth 28 at the Summertime Celebration. You'll enjoy a real treat. Artisan Jewelry by H.G.W. Designs The handcrafted jewelry by artist Harriet Warkel is not only stunning, but true pieces of art. Designs are gold filled, copper, and sterling silver that can also be wire wrapped with gemstones. Her collection also includes woven brass names and words, along with other fine jewelry. Harriet wants people to feel they have something special that they won't see someone else wearing. For 25 years Harriet was the curator of American art at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. This very talented lady never envisioned having a creative side, but as you can see, this unique jewelry tells all. Her collection can be viewed at the 'Summertime Celebration' of Arts and Crafts August 21st and 22nd.

Heather Warner Designs is the result of Heather’s insatiable desire to create things and her love of nature. She developed a strong appreciation for nature, the environment and the responsibility that people have to the earth. So when Heather and her husband moved to the country and the opportunity arose to start her own business creating earth-friendly artwork, she jumped at the chance.

She divided her art work into two categories art gourds and reclaimed pieces. Over the years she has painted, stained, burned, carved, and has used several other techniques Heather feels that she has only begun to scratch the surface of what they can be. Her reclaimed pieces, like her gourds, use various art techniques and often wood working techniques as well. She starts with a discarded item, such as a bottle or a damaged table and reworks it to give the piece new life and new beauty. Heather will be featuring all her art work in Tent “B” booth 11 make sure to stop and see all her fabulous pieces.

P AGE 20 NOW 2

DAY S!

“Breaking News” Wow! You will certainly want to make plans early to attend this popular and exciting springtime event in the great city of Findlay, Ohio. Producer Judy Cloud has given much thought to make this well attended show a 2 day event. With many requests from customers and exhibitors alike, Judy has weighed the pros and cons as to whether it would be in the best interest of both to extend the show to a 2 day weekend event. As a successful show Producer for 24 years, Judy feels it will be advantageous for both customers and exhibitors to extend the show to 2 days starting in May of 2012. On the average 300 talented crafters and artists exhibit at this popular “Springtime In Ohio” show. Some drive long distances and set up beautiful displays

that take hours to complete. Many of our dedicated customers who come year after year to attend the show, one day limits the time they can spend shopping. And for those moms and dads who would like to attend the “Springtime in Ohio” craft show, but work Saturdays or have children who they take to sporting and other school events, this affords them the luxury to attend on Sunday. Extending the show to two days should not only increase sales for exhibitors but be a less stressful day. It is the hope of Cloud Productions producer that having this event 2 days instead of one will be beneficial for all concerned. We want everyone to come out and enjoy the excitement, the entertainment, the best shopping, great food and just plain fun for the whole weekend. Wonderful food will be served by 20 vendors who take great pride in providing something for everyone's taste. Breakfast, lunch and dinner or maybe a snack, it’s all there for you to enjoy. Picnic tables are provided for your convenience. Entertainment for adults is always provided by Cloud Productions along with many children's' activities such as face painting, pony rides and Doc Buttons the famous clown who performs his tricks for the little ones. Gift Certificates are given away hourly. Simply sign up at the enter to win booth in the rear of building B and you could be a lucky winner. Event scooters are available to rent. Admission is $5.00 & children 12 and under are free. Parking is free. Package check is also available for those wishing to have items held while they shop.
