Πρωτοχρονιά: Τότε σφάζουν τον καλύτερο κόκορα και με αυτόν κάνουν βασιλόπιτα (κοκορόπιτα) μέσα στην οποία βάζουν το νόμισμα.

Ποικίλα έθιμα αναβιώνουν αυτήν την περίοδο όπως οι Βασιλιάδες της Καστανιάς, οι Καπεταναραίοι του Πλατανορρεύματος, τα Ρουγκατσάρια του Τρανοβάλτου και οι Αράπηδες του Λιβαδερού.

Θεοφάνεια: Στις 6 Ιανουαρίου επικρατεί η συνήθεια να «βαπτίζουν» τους αρραβωνιασμένους και τους νιόπαντρους. Όταν ο ιερέας ψάλλει το «Εν Ιορδάνη βαπτιζόμενο», οι φίλοι του γαμπρού τον «βαπτίζουν», δηλαδή τον ραντίζουν με το νερό της βρύσης μέχρι εκείνος να τάξει ένα γλέντι.

Μωμόγεροι: Το έθιμο των Μωμόγερων αναβιώνει κάθε χρόνο το Δωδεκαήμερο. Η ονομασία του προέρχεται από τη λέξη «μίμος» και συνδέεται με τις μιμητικές κινήσεις

Epiphany: On January 6, it is customary for the engaged and the newlyweds to be “baptized”. When the priest sings “Baptized in the Jordan”, the groom’s friends “baptize” him, i.e. sprinkle him with tap water until he promises them a feast.

Momogeri: The custom of Momogeri is revived every year on the Twelve Days. Its name comes from the word “mime” and is associated with the imitative movements of the protagonists, who, dressed in animal pelts come out on the streets in groups and sing.

Λαζαρίνες Καστανιάς: Το έθιμο αναβιώνει κάθε χρόνο το Σάββατο του Λαζάρου. Νεαρά κορίτσια ντύνονται με τις παραδοσιακές στολές για να γιορτάσουν τον ερχομό της άνοιξης, χορεύοντας και τραγουδώντας.

Ανταμώματα: Διοργανώνονται κατά τη συνάντηση του καλοκαιριού στα περισσότερα χωριά του δήμου με σκοπό τη συνάντηση όλων των κατοίκων σε ένα μεγάλο παραδοσιακό γλέντι.

2. Οι Λαζαρίνες αναβιώνουν κάθε χρόνο το Σάββατο του Λαζάρου.

3. Οι Μωμόγεροι αποτελούν χαρακτηριστικό έθιμο του Δωδεκαημέρου.

Lazarines of Kastania: The custom is revived every year on Lazarus Saturday. Young girls dress up in traditional costumes to celebrate the arrival of spring and dance and sing.

Antamomata: These are held during the summer in most villages of the Municipality with the aim of meeting all the residents in a big traditional feast.
