Overview: Junior who was part time starter as a freshman and full time starter as a sophomore…veteran of 15 tournaments entering his junior year…has eight career rounds in the 60s and 13 career under-par rounds, second among active Tigers…has solid 73.53 career average… helped Clemson to NCAA Tournament bid last year, he played 10 of the 11 events…best putter on the team and in some stats one of the best in the nation…third in the nation in fewest putts/round with 28.52…also ranked first in the nation in birdie conversion and first in fewest putts on greens in regulation…even though he had the fifth best stroke average on the team last year, he had the most birdies with 111…has finished in the Elite Eight of North-South Amateur each of the last two years, including runnerup in 2012 summer…was a big factor in Clemson’s turnaround late in 2010-11…only first-year freshman on the 2010-11 Clemson team…from an athletic family, his father, Bill, was a starting quarterback at South Carolina and his mother, Sheri, was a cheerleader at Clemson…mother was also Miss South Carolina and runner up Miss America….Thomas had 64 in final round at Furman in 2011, helping Tigers to the team title…that was low round of the year by a Clemson player…a 2009 AJGA honorable mention All-American… won 12 tournaments over his last three years as a junior player…brother of former Clemson golfer Brewer Bradshaw, they were first brother combination on the Clemson golf team since 2003 when the Duncan Brothers (Brian and Ben) were on Clemson’s National Championship team…his sister is on the Georgia women’s team. Summer 2012: Had strong summer that included reaching the finals of the NorthSouth Amateur…finished fourth in the stroke play qualifier with a 210 score, then won three straight matches to reach final, where he lost 4 and 3 to Pete Williamson…also won the Rice Planters with a brilliant 20-under par score of 268…had rounds of 66-68-6767….also finished strong 12th at the Jones Cup in February. 2011-12: Had the odd combination of leading the team in birdies, but finished fifth in stroke average…had 10 under-par rounds, including seven rounds in the 60s, second on the team…his score counted in 25 of 30 rounds and he had the best score of the day eight times, third best on the team…averaged 28.52 putts per round, third best in the nation and first on the team…struggled in the fall without a top 40 finish in the three fall events he played, then had seven top 40s, every event, in the spring…much improved in the spring over the fall, he had 76.0 average in the fall and 72.19 average in the spring…had sixthplace at Puerto Rico and that might have been his best event of the year considering the strength of the field…had 69 in first round and 68 in last round for sixth place and 212 score…had strong 14th place at USC Aiken, then finished fourth at Furman with 209 score, his best tournament score of the year…had two more rounds in the 60s at the Augusta State Invitational…that gave him six rounds in the 60s in his first 12 rounds of the spring… highlight of fall was opening round 69 at the Jerry Pate, second best round of the day by a Tiger…had 111 birdies to lead the team by one over McCuen Elmore…had 73.5 average in first round and 73.2 in the last round….named to the Clemson Academic Honor roll and the ACC All-Academic team. Summer 2011: Had two top 10 finishes, plus an Elite Eight finish at the North-South Amateur at Pinehurst #2…started the summer with 10th place finish at The Rice Planters, he shot an 11-under-par 277 for his four rounds, including 67-68 in the middle two rounds…shot under par all four rounds…then reached the third round of the NorthSouth Amateur, he had a 2 &1 win over Tyler Sheppard and a 2&1 win over Harrison Ashworth, before losing in the third round to Brad Schneider 1-up…finished 44th at Carolina’s Amateur, then finished strong at the South Carolina Amateur with a ninth-place showing… had 291 score for the four rounds, +3 for his four rounds.

In 2010-11: Fifth on the Clemson team in stroke average as a freshman with 74.07 average…did not play in the fall or the first two tournaments of the Spring, he was to be redshirted…Coach Penley took the red-shirt off for the USC-Aiken Cleveland Classic and his score counted two of the three rounds as the number-five player…shot an even-par 72 in his first career round at Palmetto Country Club…in second career tournament he led the Tigers to team victory at Furman Invitational with a 209 score, seven-under-par… that was the low 54-hole tournament by a Clemson golfer for the year and best score vs. par…finished third at the tournament overall, he had rounds of 72-73-64 …the 64 was best by a Clemson player for the year and tied the Clemson record for the best final round score in school history…he tied record held by D.J. Trahan and John Engler so he is in pretty good company…shot a 30 on the back side that day…tied the Furman Invitational record for the lowest score in any round with that 64…Jodie Mudd of Georgia Southern (1981) and Matt Peterson of Georgia (1988) also had 64s at the Furman Invitational…had second round 70 at Augusta State Invitational, the low round of the day by a Tiger…had 71 in second round at ACC Tournament, he helped Tigers to 282 team score that day…shot a seven-over-par 223 at the NCAA Tournament, his score counted in two of the three rounds, including an even-par 72 in the opening round…had five rounds at par of better out of his 15 rounds for the Tigers as a freshman…his score counted towards Clemson’s team score in nine of 15 rounds, Clemson’s number-five player had counted just four of the first 18 team rounds in 2010-11…had 4.69 stroke average on par five holes, best on the Clemson team in 2010-11.
