The Clemson radio network, which is produced by Clemson Tiger Sports Properties in conjunction with Learfield Sports, can be heard throughout South Carolina, as well as portions of North Carolina and Georgia on a strong lineup of radio affiliates. Each Clemson basketball broadcast is also carried live on the internet on ClemsonTigers.com. The broadcast begins coverage of each men’s basketball game 30 minutes before tipoff with the Tiger pre-game show. Following the game broadcast, there will be a review of the game, complete statistics, and highlight packages. The broadcast concludes with the Brad Brownell postgame show, as Tiger fans will be able to hear Clemson’s head coach and his comments on each and every contest. Providing the play-by-play coverage again in 2013-14 will be Pete Yanity, sports director at WSPA-TV in Spartanburg. Yanity is in his 11th year providing play-byplay commentary. Yanity joined the broadcast team during the 2003 football season under difficult circumstances. Jim Phillips, the voice of the Tigers for 36 years in football and men’s basketball, passed away suddenly. Yanity moved from the sidelines to the play-by-play position in the fourth football game of the year and has served in that capacity ever since. He also began broadcasting Tiger basketball in 2003-04 and rarely misses a game. Yanity has been the sports director at WSPA-TV, the CBS affiliate in Spartanburg, for over 20 years. He has also been a sideline analyst for years on Carolina Panthers preseason football games and has considerable play-by-play experience for Comcast Sports Southeast covering various college events, including Clemson football and baseball. From 1985-90, Yanity was a television sports director in Florence, SC and Morgantown, WV. For the 2001 and 2002 Clemson football seasons, he was the sideline reporter and host of the pregame, halftime, and postgame programming on the Clemson football radio network. A 1985 graduate of Ohio University, Yanity served as the host of Clemson’s coach’s television shows in the early 1990s and will serve as host for Brad Brownell’s weekly show throughout the 2013-14 season. Assistant Athletic Director Tim Bourret will assist Yanity on the radio network
