Clemson reached the E l i t e E i g h t o f t h e N C A A To u r n a m e n t , the furthest the Lady Tigers had ever advanced. They upset #15 Providence in the second round and then defeated James Madison, 57-55, on a last second shot by Peggy Sells. Clemson then fell to 13th-ranked Connecticut in the quarterfinals. Clemson was r a n k e d 2 1 s t in the final Associated Press poll and at #8 in the final USA Today poll, the highest national ranking in program history.
Jackie Farmer was named to the Second Team All-ACC. She led the ACC in rebounding with a 11.0 per game average and also ranked first in the league with a 2.3 blocks per game average. Farmer’s rebounding average ranked 16th in the nation. She boasted a 51.9-field goal percentage for the year on 150-289 shooting. The Lady Tigers finished the season with a 2 2 - 1 1 o v e r a l l r e c o r d . C h e r o n W e l l s was named to the NCAA East Regional All-Tournament Team and was also selected to the AllACC Tournament team. She led the team in scoring with a 14.1 points per game average. The Lady Tigers reached the finals of the ACC Tournament before falling to seventh-ranked NC State in the championship game. They defeated Duke in the opening round and then upset #2 Virginia in the semifinals, 65-62.

With the win over the Cavaliers in the conference tournament, the Lady Tigers became the only team in the nation to defeat a #1 and #2-ranked team during the season. Earlier in the year, Clemson had posted an 82-73 victory over NC State.
As a team, Clemson l e d t h e l e a g u e in three-point field goal percentage with a .371 figure and also boasted a leaguebest by holding the opposition to just a .400 field goal percentage.
