Spring Healing

SIERRA WILSON

You brought me spring, dancing on gentle winds, It blew away the winter, so constant, Saw me grey and broken; with haste, it mends, Replacing empty with love I thought spent. Birds sing to me your ballad most sincere, Whilst I dance in flower fields you made bloom, The approach of winter I never fear, For your undying love, it shall consume.

I say, “Bring forth the drowning snow and frost,” The dark weather for which I won’t complain, For in the storm our shouts of love aren’t lost, And still, those flowers you made bloom remain; So to you, my sun and stars, I shall pray, That one day, I too, can be your spring day.
