i held the world onCe
i held the world once i saw the oceans blue the green of the land the heat of the sahara the heartbeat of europe the shape of the americas. i held the world once every flower had a meaning, a smell unlike any other every sunrise held your love every sunset was a hug when you blinked the tides rose when you smiled the Moon became a bit more full i held the world once now i see through a looking glass watching someone else hold the world watching Earth gravitate to another Celestial the glass is slightly broken but i don’t take my eye off you even as the fractures expand and threaten to pierce my eye i held the world once the flowers make me sick the sunrise blinds me the sunset leaves me shaking the tides sink and draw further from the sand when you smile the Moon becomes a bit darker, a bit more sad, a bit more dull i held the world once but gravity took her elsewhere now someone else knows of the oceans blue of the heat of the sahara of the heartbeat of europe of the shape of the americas but at least i can still observe through my looking glass even though it’s broken and the glass is falling
