Digital and film photography

CREATOR’S NOTE These two photographs are a part of a series considering how photography changes with the use of different cameras and ways of producing the image. The content of the works discusses how the way of making the work changes the interpretation of the work’s meaning. I took these images with a fisheye lens on 35 mm black and white film, with the physical developing process being a reflection of how non physical memory is. The imagery is discussing spaces that are familiar yet distant in memory. The images, warped by the wide lens are meant to guide the viewer to a nostalgic space that is distorted yet real. This is a reflection of how memory operates, in how it can seem concrete but is ultimately fabricated by the mind.
