Re-live the Golden Age

Travel back in time to the days when railway travel was about comfort and luxury, as well as reaching a destination. All our restored carriages offer levels of comfort not normally experienced on a train journey, combined with superb service and our signature attention to detail. Settle back into your cushioned seat, order a drink and delicious refreshments, and prepare to be looked after by our attentive stewards.

Elegant vintage carriages

Our beautiful rolling stock has been lovingly refurbished to exceptionally high standards. The smart livery reflects classic railway colours, while inside, our carriages are adorned with traditional wood panelling, table lamps and perfectly set tables. Plush patterned seats make a stunning impression with golden floral detailing emanating the regality of the luxury travel era.

Travel in style

Pullman Dining

Travel in our wood panelled vintage carriages with armchair style seating at tables for four or two, laid with crisp linen and dressed with fine china and glassware, fresh flowers and large plumped cushions. As you settle into your seats, passengers travelling on a day trip will be welcomed on board with a chilled Champagne Bellini followed by a Full English breakfast and morning bakery basket. Late morning pastries with tea and coffee will be served prior to the arrival at our destination. Following an afternoon sightseeing you will be welcomed back on board by your attentive liveried steward with a refreshing glass of chilled Champagne and a selection of canapés as you relax in anticipation of the sumptuous four course gastronomic journey ahead created by our Executive Chef. Your evening meal will be accompanied by half a bottle of wine per person.

First Class (non-dining)

Reserved seating is arranged at tables of 4 or 2. Guests will enjoy complimentary tea or coffee alongside a morning glass of Buck’s Fizz and evening glass of sparkling wine.

A buffet car is available for the purchase of light refreshments, but customers may also bring their own picnic hamper on board.

Premium Standard Class (non-dining)

Reserved seating is arranged around tables of four.

Capture the spirit of yesteryear as you settle in for a magical day out on board our vintage steam train with its exquisite marquetry, sumptuous interiors and impeccable service.

This fabulous 5 hour journey captures all the beauty of the Kent countryside as it comes alive from its picturesque landscapes full of vibrant fauna and flora to the dynamic beauty of the coast and the majestic White Cliffs of Dover. These trips are steam hauled throughout.

Sunset Steam Express

Our ever popular Sunset Steam Express trips return for another season. Enjoy a nostalgic steam train trip through the Surrey Hills, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Soak up the stunning views as we head out through the suburbs of London before beginning our steep climb through the Surrey Hills as the sun sets on these glorious surroundings. These trips are steam hauled throughout.

This unique tour offers a fascinating adventure across country as we traverse England by steam, travelling past the country’s rich tapestry of intertwined rivers, canals and fields to visit the historic city of Chester where modern life is inextricably linked with its past. The city’s Tudorand-Victorian heart is justifiably famous as one of Britain’s prettiest town centres. This collection of black-and-white timber-framed beauties and red-sandstone buildings surrounded by an original set of Roman-era walls is one of the northwest’s biggest tourist attractions. This trip will be diesel hauled to London where we will be joined by our steam locomotive who will whisk us to Chester. The return journey will be diesel.

This stunning trip offers something for everyone. Delight in a day from a bygone era as we head, hauled by our steam locomotive to Chichester. Enjoy sumptuous surroundings on board the train as we meander through glorious countryside before making our way to Bosham station, our first stop for those attending the world renowned Goodwood Revival meeting. Alternatively, head for the picturesque Cathedral City of Chichester and discover its rich history, or join an optional excursion to Arundel Castle or the Weald & Downland Museum (supplements apply). Whatever you choose, you are guaranteed to have an unforgettable day out.

York comes alive with the spirit of Christmas, transforming its historic streets into a magical wonderland adorned with twinkling lights, festive wreaths and garlands. The crown jewel of the season is the renowned York Christmas Market, known as the St Nicholas Fair. Here, more than 75 wooden chalets grace the city’s pedestrianised streets, offering locally crafted treasures, seasonal gifts, artisanal delicacies, and regional fare.

The adventure continues through the undulating hills and serene beauty of Wiltshire, before meandering along the splendid countryside of the Avon Valley. The highlight of the trip awaits in the elegant Georgian City of Bath, where guests can immerse themselves in the festive charm of the acclaimed Christmas Market. On the return journey we change locomotives at Salisbury; waving goodbye to our steam engine to be whisked home by vintage diesel.

We begin our journey in Southend with a vintage diesel and make our way towards the capital and West London, where our steam locomotive joins us. Our steam-hauled adventure leads us through the Thames Valley and the Kennet Valley into Wiltshire, offering views of the White Horses before arriving in Bath. Nestled between the Roman Baths and historic Abbey, Bath’s award-winning Christmas Market encompasses 100 wooden chalets selling homemade and unique gifts, decorations and food delicacies.

This unique tour offers a fascinating crosscountry adventure as we traverse East Anglia before reaching Peterborough, where our steam locomotive joins us. We continue through a rich tapestry of intertwined rivers, canals and fields to visit the historic city of Chester. The city’s Tudor and Victorian heart is justifiably famous as one of Britain’s prettiest town centres, the perfect setting for its magical Christmas Market. 70 traders will surround the iconic sparkling tree in the square around the town hall offering unique, locally-made produce, handmade crafts and stocking fillers.

60532 Blue Peter is the last remaining L.N.E.R. Class A2 Pacific and was one of the most powerful express passenger locomotives in the UK.

340046 Braunton is a ‘Bulleid Light Pacific’ express passenger engine designed by Oliver Bulleid.

70000 Britannia was the first of 55 Standard class 7 engines to be built in Crewe by British Railways.

71000, Duke of Gloucester is a British Railways Standard Class 8P built at Crewe works in 1954.

60007 Sir Nigel Gresley is an A4 class locomotive built by the London & North Eastern Railway in 1937.

61306 Mayflower was built for the London & North Eastern Railway, 61306 is one of two surviving B1 Class locomotives.

46100 Royal Scot was built in 1927 for the fastest trains on the London Midland & Scottish Railway.
