jewel of the Margaux appellation, Château Lascombes is named after its first owner, Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes, born in 1625. Jean-François de Lascombes, a councillor at the Bordeaux Parliament, invested part of his considerable fortune on the estate in the late 18th century and did much to make Lascombes into a very great wine! The château’s fine reputation is also due to excellent management by Alexis Lichine, called the «Pope of Wine», who restructured the estate in the 1950s and promoted the wine superbly on foreign markets. Today, Dominique Befve is in charge of this famous classified growth, acquired in 2011 by the MACSF, a French mutual insurance company. Made from grapes grown on 118 hectares consisting of pure gravel, clay-gravel, and clay-limestone soils, this concentrated, powerful, and extremely elegant wine has all the finesse of the finest wines of Margaux. This is definitively the second growth one should think of first! The coat of arms that was formerly on the Château Lascombes label has been replaced by a compass rose, symbol of openness to the world and a different direction taken by the new owners.

hâteau Lascombes is one of the most famous estates in the Margaux appellation. It is also one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, and is named after its first owner, Chevalier Antoine de Lascombes, born in 1625. In the late 18th century, Jean-François de Lascombes, a councillor at the Bordeaux Parliament, invested part of his considerable fortune on the estate and did much to make Lascombes into a very great wine! The château’s reputation is also due to excellent management by Alexis Lichine, called the «Pope of Wine», who restructured the estate in the 1950s. In 1971, he sold Lascombes to the English brewers Bass-Charrington. Today, Dominique Befve is in charge of this famous classified growth, acquired in 2011 by the MACSF, a French mutual insurance company. Chevalier de Lascombes (the title of the château’s first owner) is the grand vin’s younger brother. It receives the same care and attention, including advice from famous consultant Michel Rolland. Made from younger vines, it can procure great enjoyment much earlier than the grand vin. This smooth, well-structured wine has intense, attractive, blackcurrant and blackberry aromas as well as floral and spicy hints on the palate. It is just as classy as its older brother! The President of the Bordeaux Bar, Gustave Chaix d’Est Ange built the existing château in 1867.

he Domaine de Lagravière, famed since time immemorial for its excellent terroir and this famous «hillock» of gravel. In honour of the Count Hippolyte of Malartic, admiral who served the Kings of France and owner of the Domaine in the 18th Century, the Château was renamed Malartic-Lagraviere. Bought by Michèle and Alfred-Alexandre Bonnie at the end of 1996, the 53 hectares (131 acres) estate, including 7 hectares (17 acres) of white, has been completely renovated. Based on the gravity concept, the high-performance vat house, devoted entirely to traditional wine-making methods, is recognized to date as one of the most modern and efficient. The greatest attention is given to the vineyard, situated on a superb dry and clay gravels terroir. With an overall and constant ploughing, the vines are cared following the latest concepts of sustainable farming (certified since 2008). Château Malartic-Lagravière is one of the only six classified growths both for its red and white. Its wines are well known all over the world for their complexity, elegance, intensity and balance, which are appreciated in all the best places. In 2005, the family (Véronique and Jean-Jacques are coowner with their father Alfred of the Vignobles Malartic) increased their investment in France with the purchase of Château Gazin Rocquencourt in Léognan, one of the oldest Pessac-Léognan estate situated next to Malartic-Lagravière. They also took part of the Argentinean adventure of Clos de los Siete with the purchase of 130 ha, creating Bodega DiamAndes. Vignobles Malartic, good value for great wines, vintage after vintage. CROSSING THE WATER: ANTOINE MOUEIX SHOWCASES ITS NEW MEDOC WINES AT VINEXPO ordeaux producer Antoine Moueix has historically been firmly rooted in the Right Bank but has now extended its interests into the Médoc. At Vinexpo 2015, Antoine Moueix will be showcasing wines from its new Cru Bourgeois properties in the Médoc, Chateau Patache d’Aux (AOC Médoc), Château Liversan (Haut-Médoc) and Château d’Hanteillan (AOC Haut-Médoc). The Bordeaux house of premium French wine group, Advini, was established in Saint-Emilion in 1902 by Antoine Moueix. It owns Château Capet-Guillier, AOC Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and Château Grand Renom, AOC Bordeaux. Its first development in the Médoc was in 2012 with Catherine Blasco, owner of one of the best-known Cru Bourgeois properties, the 67-hectare, Château d’Hanteillan, who had run the property single-handed since the early 1980s and wished to give it investment and a new direction. Under the management agreement, Catherine Blasco remains owner of the property with Philippe Marchal from Antoine Moueix taking charge of operational and technical management winemaking, alongside Stéphane Derenoncourt, who is now consultant at Hanteillan. The partnership has already seen the beginning of extensive renovation as well as the repositioning of the wines, which is now presented en primeur. At the end of 2014, when it acquired shares in Domaines Lapalu, Antoine Moueix’s root system in the Médoc spread further and deeper. Owner of some 250 hectares and seven leading Cru Bourgeois properties in the Médoc and Haut-Médoc AOCs, Lapalu’s flagship property, Château Patache D’Aux, in particular, has good distribution in France and in export markets. With 11 properties, covering almost 385 hectares, Antoine Moueix is now one of the major producers in Bordeaux and is the leading marketer of Cru Bourgeois wines from the region.

hâteau Cap Saint-George, a new addition to the family estates dating from 2014, confirms the ambitions of Jean-Philippe Janoueix, a great lover of wines from Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Like others before him who have made their estates standard bearers in their appellation, Château Cap Saint-George is now totally focused on excellence. The aim is clear: to be the leading wine of Saint-Georges Saint-Émilion and a benchmark for everyone who appreciates fine wines from the Saint-Émilion region. Château Cap Saint-George, and its second wine, Château Cap d’Or, have some decided advantages. The vines are in excellent condition and grow on a clay-limestone terroir that provides excellent natural drainage and succeeds in nourishing the vines to just the right extent. The estate’s slight rise with south by southwest-facing sun exposure is ideal and also conducive to good aeration. The grapes have all they need to produce superb wine. The 2014 vintage is ample proof of this, and epitomises the best of the appellation. Rich and delicious, Château Cap Saint-George shows very pure minerality. It is not only very attractive, but also reflects the essence of one of the rarest red wine appellations in Bordeaux.

he Boidron family first began making wine in 1760. Their vineyard holdings grew with each passing generation and now total 70 hectares in 6 different appellations. Pioneers in techniques for controlling fermentation in years past, the Boidron family are now in the forefront of environmentally-friendly winegrowing, and constantly seek ways to perfect their work. They have gained a reputation for innovative and creative ways of producing excellent wines. Known around the world, these wines display great balance. Each one faithfully reflects its terroir, with little concern for passing winemaking trends. Suzanne Boidron was already the sixth generation of her family to produce wine in the early 20th century. Her son, Jean-Noël, perpetuates the values and expertise handed down to him. He also shows great respect for tradition as well as the environment. Three family oenologists ensure that the wines are elegant and polished – real thoroughbreds. They have an inimitable bouquet, complexity, and velvety tannin. The Boidron vineyards have remained family owned and are jointly managed by Jean-Noël Boidron and his children Isabelle (administration), Emmanuel (sales), and Hubert (production). The Boidron family wines all reflect a philosophy and an aesthetic choice that can be defined by this motto: «Excellence, Harmony, and Humility»

atifa Saïkouk officially became a winegrower at the age of 24. At the time, she was offered the possibility of renting a small 2.8-hectare plot belonging to a neighbour and friend of her father to grow grapes. This neighbour recognized the young woman’s enthusiasm and asked her for only one thing: to make her own wine. That was in 2001. Today, wine professionals acknowledge her excellent work, and the name Saïkouk is synonymous with an 8.8-hectare estate producing three red wines much appreciated by consumers. Saïkouk Médoc and Château Mont du Puit, also in the Médoc, are made and bottled at the estate. They epitomise meticulously-made small production quality wines that provide enormous pleasure. The former wine, aged in oak barrels, is a pure Médoc: round, and full-bodied with delicious black fruit flavours and attractive, understated oak. Jacques Dupont, noted for his fine palate and articles in Le Point magazine, knows a good thing when he tastes it! His score: 14.5/15. The latter wine, Château Mont du Puit, is lighter and a real treat for everyday drinking. Devoted admirers of the Haut-Médoc appellation will unquestionably prefer Saïkouk Haut-Médoc. Aged in new oak barrels, this delicious wine has lovely black fruit flavours balanced by just the right amount of toasty oak. Last, but not least, Domaine Saïkouk also produces an excellent rosé wine. So, there are four good reasons to make room in your cellar! Latifa relies on advice from consulting oenologists Antoine Médeville and Olivier Dauga.

he Grand Cercle des Vins de Bordeaux was founded in June 2013 by Alain Raynaud, the current president, in order to bring together fine estates from Bordeaux’s Right and Left Bank under the same banner. The Cercle Rive Droite de Grands Vins de Bordeaux, established in July 2002, is an unusual association promoting quality and ethical practices. It includes 137 châteaux managed with enthusiasm and expertise by their dynamic owners. The Cercle Rive Gauche de Grands Vins de Bordeaux, was created in April 2013. This sister association includes 56 châteaux carefully chosen for the quality of their wine. The guiding principle was to take advantage of of the dynamics and efficiency of the Cercle Rive Droite to promote fine wines from the Médoc, Graves, Sauternes, and Barsac. Thanks to the diversity and complementarity of their appellations, terroirs, and winemakers, the Grand Cercle des Vins de Bordeaux, which includes nearly 200 estates, is a showcase for Bordeaux wines chosen for their quality. The Grand Cercle’s vocation is to show that Bordeaux has beautiful, top-end wines at affordable prices and to promote these special wines whose byword is excellence.

he beautiful 18th century residence overlooks the Isle River Valley, across from the limestone slopes of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol. Surrounded by vines, the château was first planted in 1610 and belonged to the same family for three centuries. It was acquired in 1955 by Michel Rullier. For over forty years, he modernised winemaking techniques in order to improve quality. Michel Rullier also succeeded in selling his wine around the world. His daughter Brigitte learned the ropes working with her father for several years, and took over management in 2002. Going hand-in-hand with the development of export sales, Brigitte Rullier-Loussert has become a true professional and left her mark on the way work is done in the vineyard and cellar. She manages a devoted team and her wines have won praise from some of the most famous critics in the world. «I do not try to make powerful, over-extracted, over-oaked wines, because that is not the way I see fine wine. Above and beyond trends, I am looking for the best possible expression of the terroir and to bring out its full personality. I believe that it is entirely possible to combine elegance, freshness, and balance with a feminine touch. Dalem is such a wine, displaying concentration and substance, but remaining elegant through and through. That, to me, sums up perfect balance». Brigitte Rullier-Loussert

ocated in Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens in Saint Emilion appellation, CHATEAU DU PARC since April 2011 is the property of Alain Raynaud and Françoise, his wife. The three hectares of sand and gravel the original property were enriched by two limestone clay plots located north of the appellation. This choice sign the beginning of a dear excep- tional wine strategy Alain Raynaud, who through experience knows that great wines are born in the complexity of the terroir. Pomerol child and well known personality of the wine world, Alain Raynaud, a consultant for many wine estates in Bordeaux, in the south of France (Banyuls, Collioure), California, Argentina, and on the island of Sark is always animated by love and passion for wine. He, now more than ever the desire to practice at CHATEAU DU PARC, which his work «wine maker» allowed him to refine worldwide. He shared this desire with Françoise, his wife and manager of the property. The 5 hectares of vineyards are planted with the cur- rent 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, spread over the old and new plots based on the affinity of soils and grape varieties. With the addition of these two additional plots clay and limestone, the ambition of CHATEAU DU PARC is the development of contemporary wines, combining power and ele- gance. Thus, the plots «Lodu du Parc, and Badette Destieux» now make up the signature of CHATEAU DU PARC.

ery few people concerned with sustainable viticulture have opted for total conversion, not only to organic viticulture, but also to biodynamics. Alain Moueix is one such person. After achieving both qualifications at the family estate, Château Fonroque (a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé), he is now aiming for similar recognition for Château Mazeyres in Pomerol. Things are well on their way. Recently certified for organic viticulture, Mazeyres has been committed to biodynamics for the past three years and is presently undergoing a second monitoring procedure. The goal in obtaining this complementary certification is to prove that biodynamic viticulture is not just a question of semantics… Alain Moueix, manager of Mazeyres, has taken it to heart to make this minor revolution a successful one. All chemicals are now excluded because biodynamics involves a holistic approach, considering both viticulture and people’s ways of doing things. There is one overriding principle: to honour the inalienable rights of nature, and to serve nature by understanding it rather than mistreating it or attempting to subjugate it. This describes the essential philosophy... except that there is a long learning curve in applying it. The results are nevertheless well worth the effort. The soil and subsoil are gradually regenerating at Château Mazeyres. The vines have clearly benefited and the wine has also progressively improved. It is now more structured and full-bodied, and reflects the grapes’ aromatic complexity with greater precision. The 2014 vintage of Château Mazeyres is a good example of the progress that has been made. It was shipped just before the estate obtained official organic certification, but has all of the requisite qualities.

wned by the well-known oenologists Dany and Michel Rolland, Château Fontenil has 10 hectares of vines an average of 40 years old, with a density of 6,000 vines per hectare. Grape varieties consist of 90 % Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Annual production amounts to approximately 35,000 bottles of Château Fontenil, 8,000 bottles of Défi de Fontenil, a small cuvée de tête, and a third wine, Filet Rouge (depending on the vintage). The diversity of soils and sun exposure, combined with expert fermentation and ageing, account for Fontenil’s complexity and unique personality. Traditional methods are used whenever possible in order to let the terroir express itself. Historically speaking, Fronsac was the first wine region in Bordeaux. Its enchanting countryside and ability to produce great wines attracted M. and Mme Rolland, who have made Fontenil their family home. Sales: Fontenil is sold en primeur by Bordeaux négociants and by Rolland Collection SARL, a small family firm established in 2007 to offer a selection of wines from various regions - not just Bordeaux, but also the Rolland’s special favourites from other countries. Château Fontenil is also sold - on a futures basis, or in bottle ready to ship in France and abroad - to restaurants, wine merchants, and private customers by the Rolland Collection company and a dozen Bordeaux négociants. The wine is currently distributed in France and in twentyfive foreign countries, including Andorra, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, and the USA.

ometimes terroir is about more than just viticulture and winemaking. It can also inspire people to become winegrowers – especially when a grandson is influenced by his grandfather. Arnaud Roux-Oulié knows all about this. Owner of several estates in the Fronsac area, this forty year old is well aware that winemaking also revolves around history. Château Carlmagnus and Château Francs-Magnus epitomise that of Fronsac, where a certain Charlemagne once stayed. The former estate, located on a rise neighbouring the Tertre de Fronsac, is planted with 100% Merlot. This choice of grape variety led to tailor-made winemaking to produce one of the appellation’s finest wines. Château Carlmagnus is complex, elegant, and opulent, reflecting both ripe fruit and the clay-limestone terroir. Highly rated by foreign critics, this pure Fronsac is delicious young, but also ages well. It could be said that Château Francs-Magnus is a more simple wine. This Bordeaux Supérieur is enjoyable young and on any occasion. It provides enormous pleasure and is obviously cut from the same cloth as Château Carlmagnus, and made with the same care and attention. Bottled in September, and thus aged for one year, it is a generous and delicious wine. Light, fruity, and very fresh, it represents tremendous value for money... and because wine is also a source of inspiration, winegrower Arnaud Roux-Oulié is a painter in his spare time.

Original and unique, the acquisition became possible by the support of underwriters, who agreed to a financial contribution in exchange of bottles of four vintages. They were first in France in attempting this kind of funding. At that time the winery counts four hectares and has a small building for the winemaking as well as the aging process. In the same year Stéphane Derenoncourt creates a consulting company, together with his wife he wants to stay wine grower and fulfill his dream to have their own winery. This Winery is a permanent laboratory for validating methods and treatments that could be applied in consulting; as well as a training center for assisting consultants or oenologists in education, which are often deficient in knowledge about the viticultural practice. The production philosophy is uncompromising: short pruning, small yield, and worked soil - a method highly inspired by the biodynamic method. Notice, that the Winery is not certified. The respect of the naturel quality of the grapes begins in the cellar, where the harvested grapes allowed in wooden tanks. Non-Yeasted, the fermentations are long and the extractions are guided manually with punch downs. The wines age in wooden barrels and on their lees. The vineyard is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc vines. When they acquired the vineyard some of the 40-year-old plots were planted at a density of 3000 vines/ha. They decided to restore them to the original density per hectare of 6000 vines. The same quantity of harvest is thus better distributed. The average age of the vineyard is about 40 years.

Deau brings new alternative in luxury Cognac to VINEXPO

D

eau Cognac is positioning itself as “a real alternative” to the better known brands currently available in travel retail (Hall 3 stand 332), in terms of look, quality and positioning. With a new commercial office recently opened in China, and a consolidated team for EMEA markets, – Deau believes VINEXPO fair will play a critical role in helping the company to buildbusiness worldwide.

Véronique Legaret

Whilst a relatively new name to consumers, Deau has a long history, dating back to 1665 when Louis Deau settled in the region as a wine grower, ultimately discovering the magical alchemy of pot stills. Today the domain – covering over 30 ha of vineyards is owned by the Bru Legaret family, with Véronique Bru Legaret presiding over the destiny of the company in April 2011. In 2012 the company began to export its own label in major markets around the word with a range of Cognacs that target all lovers of superb quality premium and luxury spirits. In just four years, the Deau core range of six Cognacs: Collection VS, VSOP, Napoleon, XO, Black and Louis Memory has won just about every relevant gold and silver award going, including International Wines & Spirits Competition, World Drink Awards, San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Chinese Wine & Spirits Association. The company has also won awards for its beautiful sail‐shaped decanters which give the range a particularly luxury appeal and positioning. Within the category, Deau is able to compete at the very top end of the market with its Deau Cognac Privilège, a unique blend of Cognacs selected by its Master Blender and slowly matured in the five ageing cellars; and Deau La Vie en Or which stands for “the life in gold” (or simply, Deau LVO Cognac). Originally introduced as a Christmas and New Year offering in 2012, Deau LVO is beautifully packaged in a luxurious decanter layered with gold leaf that was commissioned by Parisian fine jeweller Arthus Bertrand. This is a blend of the finest, oldest Grande Champagne eaux‐de‐vies that are housed deep in the cellars of the house of Deau.

Also perfect for travel retail or Christmas sales, there are two Tasting Boxes, beautifully presented, and enabling consumers to try either three or all six of the main Deau Cognac expressions. Says President Véronique Bru Legaret, : “Deau is presenting itself as a true alternative brand, offering the prestigious and luxury values of Cognac that have always been promoted by our peers – but with the addition of our own USP in terms of look, quality and range”. Says Export Director Olivier Hidier “We believe the potential for Deau is excellent. We recognize our main challenge is that, while Deau is a very old French house, we only started exporting under our own label in 2012 and therefore there is still a lack of brand awareness. But that is changing. We are strong in Asia and are growing in North America, Europe, Russia and the Middle East. We see VINEXPO as a great showcase and excellent platform from which to build the name of Deau!” Deau Cognac comes to VINEXPO following a run of exhibitions in Prowein, Orlando and Singapore. “The reception was extremely positive, particularly to the decanters which seemed to have an almost magnetic attraction – the presentation is one of our strengths, for sure. We are very confident of confirming new listings in the Americas as a result.” Hidier believes the most logistically sensible route forward is to work with regional agents and distributors in order to “be flexible and efficient”. Besides, in an environment where travelers are looking for new, premium, different, unique and alternative…Deau most definitely fits the bill.” Trade contact: Olivier HIDIER, Export Director Mobile:+33 6 23 94 59 03 Office: +33 545 905 545 Fax :+33 545 906 937 ohidier@moisans.com www.deaucognac.com www.cognacmoisans.com www.rolandbru.com

inegrowers and Distillers for 150 years…such is the Family BOUTINET motto. The vineyard covers 68 acres set in the COGNAC “ Fins Bois” area, which is reknown for producing high quality COGNAC earlier than other “crus”. From generation to generation, the vines have been established on the best soil of the Estate, deep and soft. Ugni blanc Columbard give their best when harvesting time comes and the wine is made in the Estate winery with all the craft, attention, and tradition, by Bernard BOUTINET and his son Pierre. Part of the more sweetened Columbard and Ugni blanc grape juice mixed with Cognac will produce Pineau des Charentes blanc, when juices of Merlot and Cabernet added to Cognac will produce Pineau des charentes rosé. Though the vineyard has been on this estate for nearly two Centuries, though art of distillation has been past down for more than four generations, Bernard BOUTINET has added a new dimension by bottling and selling his own Cognac and Pineau des Charentes directly from his Estate. The label emblem “ La Calèche “ has become the mark of originality and quality of Boutinet’s Cognac and Pineau des Charentes. As this Charente area image, a little mysterious and secret behind the high walls surroundings the Estates, proud of a rich historical past, As Boutinet’s labels wants to be sober, discret and elegant…. When Boutinet VSOP Cognac shows itself direct and gently perfumed, Napoléon, X.O., and EXTRA reveal their richness and complexity only after a tender moment of complicity in your hand. Then you reach a marvellous world of warm touches of honey and gingerbread. You appreciate perfect harmony between alcohol and sweetened flavours. Besides his traditional oak barel matured COGNAC Bernard BOUTINET offers a surprising “Coeur de Fins Bois “ being matured in very old casks, it has very little tannin and leaves pure all the perfumes and fragrances from the grapes and vines. Very light “Eau de Vie “ and being nearly without tannins it allows also to be appreciated as a long drink on ice or with tonic. Viña Montes began its extensive “Dry Farming” project in 2009 and with the 2012 vintage of Montes Alpha demonstrates that dry farming not only drastically reduces the use of water in the vineyard, but results in wines with enhanced fruitiness and aromatic expression.

I

n 2009, recognizing the need for more responsible water usage, Montes began a pioneering viticultural project of “Dry Farming”, studying the impact of differing levels of irrigation on grape development – currently the only winery in Chile to do so. Focusing initially on its vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, the findings of the project determine the precise level of irrigation required for individual vineyards and parcels, taking into consideration a range of factors vintage, soil types and grape varietals. The basic premise behind Dry Farming is to allow nature to take its course as much as possible, topping up with irrigation as required depending on the particular vintage- a significant development in Chile, where it is the norm to irrigate. With now five years of data under its belt, Montes has made dramatic findings, illustrating that less irrigation results in lower yields of higher quality grapes. “We have seen in several tasting panels that through Dry Farming, we increase the concentration and final quality of the wines,” explains chief winemaker Aurelio Montes. He continues, “We get more ripe fruit and more weight in the mouth.” Wine made with dry farmed grapes has a higher concentration of phenols, resulting in a blend which is more receptive to barrel ageing, thereby achieving more complexity and layers of flavor during ageing. Since it was founded in 1988, Montes has always shown an unwavering commitment to strict sustainable principles. In 2000, it launched an integrated management program, which includes continuous recording and monitoring of pests, diseases, natural enemies and nutritional and water requirements in order to ensure the minimum use of pesticides, fertilizers and water, as well as retaining natural plant cover on 60% of the vineyards to reduce soil erosion and compaction. 55

Aurelio Montes

The winery is certified under the Wines of Chile Sustainable Code, which addresses the wine sector’s needs for sustainable practices in three areas –Vineyard, Winery, and Community. The Dry Farming Project has resulted in a decrease of 65% of water usage in the Colchagua vineyards during the 2013-2014 season equivalent to the water needs of 20,000 persons in a year . The results can be tasted in the 2012 vintage of the Montes Alpha range.

have travelled the length and breadth of Bordeaux for over 30 years, so you can be sure that the wines you are about to discover have been carefully chosen. I know all the producers personally and can recommended them for several reasons, but most of all because they love their job and make their wines with the care and attention worthy of fine Bordeaux. Furthermore, most of them are glad to welcome visitors (especially if you mention this guide). Bordeaux offers an absolutely tremendous range of wines, with something for everyone. All the bottles included in this guide are blended wines, which is to say they are made with several different grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot for the red wines, and Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle for the whites. The pictograms (flags underneath the photos of winegrowers) represent the languages they speak. I sincerely wish you a very enjoyable trip to the 21st century Bordeaux wine country !
