ALL-AMERICA SELECTIONS Sakata is a member of the All-America Selections organization. This is founded in 1932 by American breeders of flowers (and vegetables). The objective of this organization is similar to that of the Fleuroselect organization. All-American Selections is awarded to varieties with excellent home garden performance. Both the Fleuroselect and All-America Selections entries are evaluated under code number in numerous trial grounds in different locations. This is done by selcted expert judges. FLEUROSELECT Sakata is a member of the Fleuroselect organization. This organization was founded in 1970 by European breeders of flower seed varieties. The objective of the organization is to stimulate the breeding of new varieties by testing and describing these varieties, by protecting the breeders rights and by promoting new varieties. FLEUROSELECT GOLD MEDAL WINNERS Fleuroselect Gold Medal is awarded for excellent performance in trials. Fleuroselect Gold Medal is awarded when a variety extends the existing limits of breeding and beauty. FLEUROSELECT QUALITY AWARD WINNERS Fleuroselect Quality Mark is awarded to varieties that prove to be very reliable and distinct novelties. FLORASTAR This organization was initiated in 1988 and works closely together with All-America Selections. It is designed to award seed and cutting produced varieties based on pot and container performance. FloraStar has 24 unique trial sites, including professional growers and universities in the USA and Canada.

Eustoma grandiflorum SUMMARY OF SAKATA’S LISIANTHUS F1 HYBRIDS The following is only a schedule-guideline for planting and harvesting Lisianthus. However, there are many different cultural techniques that can be applied in order to “fine tune” the production of Lisianthus. Therefore, we suggest that you contact your local Sakata representative for more detailed advice and expert assistance. Depending on the geographical location and local market requirements, Lisianthus cultivation can be manipulated by techniques such as; variety plug-cooling, short-day treatments, heat adjustment, additional lighting, and daylength manipulation.
