Creative proposal ideas come in all shapes and sizes, but one of our favorites is when one nervous but head-over-heels committed person contacts us because they’re going to propose to the love of their life with one of our books. One of our customers, Ryan, emailed us about having a scrapbook album made for him to use in his marriage proposal to then-girlfriend, Jessica. Being together for four years, and dating long distance, Ryan and Jessica experienced so many memories of travel and events and life that he felt a scrapbook would not only compliment Jessica’s love for crafting and creating, but would help capsulize all they experienced together. “I got the idea to propose using a scrapbook or photo book when I was thinking of ways to propose to Jessica,” Ryan wrote to us. “Jessica is a very crafty person; she’s made scrapbooks in the past, knitted articles of clothing, and designs/ creates bow ties in her spare time. I knew she would really appreciate me trying to do something crafty.” Ryan found our Leather Rustic Photo Album on Pinterest and contacted us to make sure the album would work according to his proposal plan.
However, during the ordering process, his plan started to change as they celebrated their fourth year dating anniversary and Jessica announced she was going to make him a scrapbook as a gift. “Her crafting skills are a lot better than mine, so I knew she’d like a part chronicling our relationship,” Ryan wrote. “I decided to leave the first twenty or so pages empty to fill from our early stages in our relationship (with her help and input). About twenty pages in, I decided to give a tribute to Jessica, listing all the amazing qualities she has and pictures that relate.” Ryan went on to include pictures of the two of them in the places they’ve visited together and the places they’ve both lived during their relationship, along with the words, “No matter where life takes us, being with you will always be the best part.” A few pages later, he included a photo of the engagement ring with the question, “Will You Marry Me?” Eight months later, we got another email from Ryan, this time requesting a handmade wedding guest book for their wedding in June.

Our Constellation Sketchbook has been busy traveling the world and serving as the perfect book for art journaling, which is exactly what bookbindress, Jessie, intended when she designed the book. She wanted to create a sketchbook that would inspire adventure, and it has been exciting for her to see our customers’ travels through the art they create. The Constellation Sketchbook’s first big trip was with art and style blogger, Courtney Pilgrim, who planned to take our constellation sketchbook to Brazil in order to sketch, paint, and journal all the things she experienced during her time in Rio de Janeiro. “When I received this journal in the mail, it was the best early Christmas present ever! I immediately busted out my art supplies and started on page one,” Courtney wrote on her blog. “Honestly, this is the nicest journal I have ever owned. I was so happy and flattered when they reached out to me about teaming up for a project and even more happy that they wanted to share the love with one of my readers, too!” Her love of culture, color and patterns fill the pages of her sketchbook, which she gladly shared with her followers on Instagram.
After seeing the genuine interest she was able to generate with her followers on all things artsy, we collaborated with Courtney to run an Instagram giveaway for a personalized constellation sketchbook. With Courtney’s amazing photos of how she used our sketchbook as a travel art journal, the winner of the giveaway, Sharon, was inspired to fill hers with illustrated life updates to keep in touch with her best friend living on the opposite side of the country. The two friends ship the sketchbook back and forth between New York and California to make the incredible distance between them a little cozier. Courtney’s travel journal pages also inspired another one of her followers, Vanessa, who purchased the constellation sketchbook and took it to the beautiful country of South Africa. Vanessa loved that we created a product that just happened to match her constellation tattoo. As a blogger with a passion for art journaling and crafting, Vanessa shared with her readers and Instagram followers all the unique ways she embellished her sketches with fabric, mementos, stitching, and paint. It’s been amazing to see how our own designer’s vision for a product transforms and evolves through the creativity and artistic talent of our clients and reaffirms our desire to create meaningful keepsakes to help others remember life’s adventures. We can foil stamp/deboss text onto the cover of our books with different fonts, colors and locations; up to 3 center-aligned lines, and each line can have up to 28 characters per line for standard and large books, as well as up to 16 characters per line for journals and smaller books. While some special requests can be honored, the font size is determined by our personalization experts based upon the amount of text and the size of the book. *Limitations: we cannot support “~” or accent marks, and while we can support up to 16 all-capitalized characters with our serif font, we cannot personalize all caps using our script font.

With no commitment to buy a minimum stocking order, new partners can easily try out our custom books and services. Like many of our existing partners, the relationship often starts conservatively with a single book order, but the value of the presentation portfolio as a sales tool is quickly realized because the presentation portfolio makes it incredibly easy to demonstrate our quality custom options when our partner doesn’t carry inventory. TERMS & CONDITIONS ClaireMagnolia is a custom bookbindery where we hand-make our books to order. We keep a small inventory of some of our best-selling items/colors to accommodate rush orders. Even with rush orders, our custom books have the same outstanding quality and excellent workmanship as non-rush orders. Please allow 2-3+ weeks for standard orders. Stocking Dealer: First Order & Reorder Minimum - $150 Turn-around – 2-3 weeks, depending on quantity. 90 day guarantee – we will buy back any resellable items excluding personalized or custom orders after 90 days. Drop Ship/Singles: We can make and ship single books to our partner or directly to the client. Because our custom books are made-to-order, please allow 2-3 weeks for production. We can rush orders for a nominal rush fee and ship out in 48 hours usually. Please call to confirm availability. Fees: • Drop Ship - $6/item
• Rush Drop Ship - $12/item
Payment: Payment for our custom books is required at the time of order. We accept all major credit cards. Shipping: We guarantee our orders ship out in good condition and packaged well to prevent damages during shipment. We carefully track our orders’ due dates and guarantee your order will arrive on time, given the respective production time has been honored and we agreed upon the due date at the time the order was placed. Backorders: Out of stock items totaling $50 or more on a single order will be held until ready to ship. Please notify ClaireMagnolia if back-orders are not accepted. Returns/Cancellations: Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled if we have started production. No returns on custom goods and applicable returns will only be accepted with prior approval. Damaged Goods: If there is a problem with an order, please notify us within 10 days of receipt. Defective goods, not as a result of shipment, will be exchanged. Shipping damages are to be handled with the shipping carrier and is the responsibility of the customer.
