PROTOCOL FOR THE COMBINED APPROACH ('HABIT REVERSAL') TO ATOPIC SKIN DISEASE IN ADULTS AND OLDER CHILDREN As Used at Daniel Turner Department of Dermatology, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London

Prior to the first visit for The Combined Approach, the patient is referred to the Department usually by the general practitioner, and seen by a dermatologist for assessment and diagnosis. A referral is then made to the Psychodermatology Service and a series of appointments is arranged.

Visit One Introduction of characteristics Broad introduced. Therapist programme described. Usual experience of treatment to in contrast, The Combined date summarised Approach characterised by active involvement, with good reason for optimism. Emphasis to be on 'managing eczema' rather than 'being managed'.
