When he died, he fell apart, and from his body the five holy mountains of China sprang into existence. His head became the T'ai mountain in the East his trunk became the Sung mountain in the center, his right arm the Heng mountain in the North, his left arm the Heng mountain in the South, and his feet the Hua mountain in the West. His eyes became the sun and moon.

Cosmic Man-the gigantic, all-embracing figure that personifies and contains the entire universe-路is a common representation of the Self in myths and dreams.
