The current ASR procedure has been implemented across all current TV DWP with the works arborist in regular communication with the Environmental Advisor. It is considered that the current procedure is fit for purpose, provided all steps are implemented

Sections 4.2.3, 4.2.4 and 4.2.4 – there isn’t really anything site specific in these sections and they only refer to section 4.2.1 for the tree protection measures.

The main purpose for their inclusion is to provide a more detailed summary of those activities that involve retained trees. This is the format the previous TV DWPs have followed so the document can be reviewed by a wider audience with images of the trees included.

4.2.3 For what reason? Using tree health as a (Paragraph tool to assess work practices is flawed as the impact of poor work practices may 2) not be immediately apparent, in most circumstances the impact may not be visually apparent for a number of years after. However, recording tree health can assist in bonding issues.

I have removed this sentence. Item already addressed in Section 4.2.2 with tree health to be assessed in accordance with the ASR procedure.

It has been noted at our recent online discussion on the mitigation package of planting and it is of note that the final draft should reflect that the groups of trees that are currently noted as “Not needing replacement as they are within an existing Kiwi Rail designation” - does not align to Councils opinion on this particular matter and so it would be noted that this aspect needs to reflect the more recent discussions on this and the need for the tree noted as Group G2 and specimens T1 & T2 are part of the package of mitigation that the project is going to be responsible for. Section 4.2 discusses as site walk over to establish the areas of protection for the trees that are to be

The conditions requiring replacement on 1:1 ratio do not apply to trees located within the KiwiRail designation and not the CRL designation.
