Community Support

The City of Sanford created the “Sanford Cares” Community Assistance & Relief Emergency Support program in Fiscal Year 2016-17 to allow customers to contribute toward an emergency relief fund to help struggling residents pay their water and sewer bills.

To combat the opioid epidemic, Sanford City Council worked with Lee County Government to put together a series of community forums focused on finding solutions and curbing the crisis.

For the ninth consecutive year, the City of Sanford’s Community Development department coordinated the Sanford Block Party, a day of community service and fellowship in a blighted Sanford neighborhood.
