All aboard as we make a Science Matters Electromagnetic Train. (You won’t believe how cool this train is!) Finally, design your own Cubelet robot to do your bidding. The robot will do different things depending on how you construct it. Circuits, buzzing lights and motors galore in this super fun camp! Our Counselor In Training (CIT) program is a great first step into volunteerism. The benefits of the position are: opportunities to gain experiences such as leadership, accountability, self-confidence and teamwork in a fun and engaging environment. This program will also teach social, organization and networking skills our teens will need as adults. CITs are selected through an application and interview process and will have a weekend training session prior to the start of summer. At the end, CIT’s will receive an official City of Lakewood letter about their contribution, which is great for a future resume. CITs are required to sign up for a minimum of three weeks of volunteering within the Heritage, Culture & the Arts camps (art, music, theater and history), spots are limited. Application is available online at Lakewood.org/Camps. Ages 15-17
