Welcome Dwayne Eberhart Public Works Director

Dwayne Eberhart joined the City of Jonesboro as Director of Public Works in April 2022. With prior roles in Union City, Temple, and Powder Springs, Dwayne has over 25 years of local government experience. He is a native of Fulton County and graduated from Creekside High School. He later attended Shorter University, earning a degree in Business Management as well as the University of Georgia where he earned a Certificate of Government Management. In his spare time, Dwayne enjoys attending sporting events, exercise/physical fitness, and coaching baseball. Dwayne embraces challenges and welcomes different perspectives; one of his favorite sayings is “if everyone was the same, the world would be a boring place.” Along with his wife and two children, Dwayne currently resides in South Fulton and is a member of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral.

PARK AMBASSADORS In order to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our parks, the City of Jonesboro is announcing a recently created position, “Park Ambassador.” Duties of this part-time position include providing directions, information on park activities, watching for vandalism, reminding patrons to abide by park rules, minor janitorial duties and serving as an extra set of eyes and ears for the City of Jonesboro. Starting pay rate is $20.00 per hour. Those interested in applying, should apply under “Employment Opportunities” at www.jonesboroga.com.
