CITY CENTER UPDATE The Jonesboro City Center building located west of Lee Street Park will open in late Summer of 2022. A new street, City Center Way, forms the entrance off Smith Street. The white marble exterior panels should begin appearing very soon. The building contains space for City Hall operations, Jonesboro Police Department, and the Probation and Court Departments. Visitors will be greeted with an airy open atrium featuring a barista area. Just off the atrium is a spacious Community Room (seats 180) for special events. The first floor will house City Hall reception, permits, business licenses, Community Development, Code Enforcement, Probation Services, and a Courtroom. On the second floor are the Administrative Offices for City Hall and the Jonesboro P.D. as well as a spacious conference room. Large windows on the east side of City Center give a view of the park. The building will highlight a clock tower on the south end of the second floor. A plaza entrance between the park and the City Center will form a meeting place for citizens and visitors to mingle.
